About this Cook
I am a wife and a mother of a beautiful four year old girl. I am addicted to food. I'm always thinking about it. I would make full course meals for my family everyday if I didn't work 10 hour days. I can remember my father telling my husband when we first got married that he felt bad for him because he would be eating alot of frozen dinners. My father eats those words now. My four year old is a cook in the making. Whenever I bake she's always beside me. She loves it and prides herself with the end results.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is my strong point. I love to make cakes and cheesecakes and I have been acused of buying things at a bakery and passing it off as homemade when it really is homemade.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Portuguese and my favorites are Portuguese Steak dinners, my grandmothers sweetbread that she would make for easter with a hard boiled egg baked in the middle and my aunts sweet rice pudding.
My cooking triumphs
Making Christmas dinner for twenty people. My mom turned her nose up at my menu and said no one would want to eat what I preparing. Wasn't she suprised when everyone raved about my dinner and there were absolutely no left overs. I almost did'nt get to eat because there wasn't much left when I sat down for dinner.
My cooking tragedies
I made a beef stew one time. It did not go over well.

Cheese Lover's Chicken
Yum-o. This was really good. My whole family really enjoyed this. I served it with garlic and oil penne w/Parmesan cheese. Awesome. Really cheesy. If you like really cheesy chicken parm this is for you.

Turkey Minestrone
This soup was good. My family enjoyed it. I personally didn't like the Turkey Sausage. I think next time I will double the ground turkey and leave out the sausage. This makes a lot of soup.

3-Cheese Pasta Bake
This was very good. My family really enjoyed it. I did sub Cheddar Cheese Soup for the Cream of Mushroom and I used a blend of Colby and Monteray Jack Cheese. I would definately use the Cheddar Cheese soup again but I think I would use a different blend of cheeses next time. Very creamy and cheesy. Perfect comfort food.
