Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I was sceptical thinking it would be too sweet, but it turned out great. I did soak the chops in some of the marinade. Then drained most of the water out of the dish and put the rest of the marinade over the chops and continued cooking. I did broil for a few minutes to give a nice glazed look. Very pretty and good.

Very good recipe. I didn't use quite as much butter as called for and it was still very good. Topping was great, very candy-like.

Pecan Pie

GREAT PIE. A very chewy pie, not just gooey from corn syrup. I over baked it a little and it was rather firm to cut, but still great. Not the traditional gooey bottom pecan pie, much better.

Waaayyy too packy using the biscuits. It may have just been me, but I think the biscuits were the culprit. I ended up throwing most of it away - just too packy.

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Great gumbo recipe. I used this recipe with my leftover turkey bones from the Thanksgiving turkey. I cooked them in water for several hours and then went with this recipe from there. It was great. To keep the gumbo more heart healthy, just skim off the oils after cooking or the next day after cooling.

Great pie. I've been trying to find a recipe like my mother-in-law's thick fudgy chocolate pies. This one is GREAT. Beautiful pie.

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
Wow! Great chocolate pie! Chocolte pies are a "big deal" at my in-laws house at the holidays and I have been trying to find a recipe that was thick and fudgy like hers. This one is definitely a hit. It passed the test! Will definitely use this recipe again.

Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
I was searching for the perfect chocolate pie - trying to make one close to my Mother-in-law's pies. I tried this one and the one titled "Bev's Chocolate Pie". Well, Bev's Chocolate Pie was my absolute favorite. But, this is a good recipe if you like a fudgy, pudding-like filling. I accidentally added the 1/4 cup of sugar to the filling that should have gone in the egg white meringue so the fudgy filling was extra sweet. However, my brother-in-law (who LOVES chocolate pies) absolutely loved this recipe. He kept telling me how this was the best pie he has ever eaten. So, try both recipes and decide which type of filling is your favorite.

Bev's Chocolate Pie

This is THE Pie! I am not a big Chocolate pie fan and my mother-in-law Always makes Chocolate pies for the holidays and Everybody in the family just raves over her pies. I like her pies OK. However, I got voted to make the Chocolate pies this year. After doing a lot of recipe research, I ended up trying this recipe and the one titled Chocolate Pie I. Well, this one is by far my favorite. The other one, "Chocolate Pie I" is more like the one my mother-in-law makes - more like a pudding-type filling. But this recipe is just like a beautiful pie you would see in a bakery window. The flavor is great and the texture is great. Hope you try it.

Pecan Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
This recipe was PERFECT! Definitely a perfect Southern Pecan Pie. I made the other recipe titled "Pecan Pie" which has the Allrecipe Symbol beside it and it doesn't even come close to this one. Plus, the other one was much too complicated and difficult to make and no one really liked it in my family and extended families. This one - Pecan Pie III - is the way to go.
