I am 40ish and single, I was single while I raised my 3 children so I am like the biggest multi-tasker there is. I either worked fulltime or went to college fulltime while I ran the house and raised the kids so I learned alot. One thing that never changed is my love to bake and cook. I passed it on to all 3 of my children all of which enjoy cooking and at least 2 are great cooks. One of my sons went on with classes to become a chef.
My favorite things to cook
I love to open a cook book and prepare and cook what ever I opened to, it is fun and is a way of trying new things...even though there are a few things I haven't tried and don't care to. Mexican is one of my favorites and so is asian food. I cook Italian however I head away from eating pasta. I eat a little but everyone else goes back for more. There are some things I look forward to trying like breads and bagels.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking all day the day before any holiday. Those days were not pressed with stress and no one ever knew what we would end up with because I like to try new things and my daughter is the same way. So manym people fuss over the baking and cooking they loose the enjoyment of it. The guests are not food cridits they will love anything that is prepared so I never rush around (#1 make a list from recieps, get extra and shop days ahead of time) and get stressed and irritated...I just cook and bake and enjoy it with who ever is with me.
My cooking triumphs
A few little cooking contests and the reward of having a group of men at a company ask me to start bringing them lunches when I took my boyfriends to him and they wanted to pay $5 a plate!! They were left overs!!!
