I am a young woman trying to figure out how to cook for one, without calling home to mom for every recipie or cooking time. I like to cook at least one new dish every week, even if its only a new spin on the old way. Cooking for one means i need to love my left overs (which can be challenging)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking italian, unfortunalty i currently only know like three meals. But grilling is my fave. Steaks, chicken burgers, veggies... i still have so much to try
My favorite family cooking traditions
When i was small i used to wake up saturday mornings to the smell of my dear mother baking banana bread. If i got up early enough i could help, but if not there was always that first piping hot piece when i crawled out of bed...mmmmm
My cooking triumphs
The fist time a made chilli, omg! it was the best i had ever had, the only problem was i didnt write down how i made it, oh well im sure i'll figure it out sooner or later, and you better beleave i'll post it so everyone can experience the best chilli ever!
My cooking tragedies
I tried making runzas. I had never seen them made before and i didnt have a recipie. i was going for my own version. turns out that i should have asked about how to get the meat inside the bread. What i ended up with was flat bread with meat on top. So then i just thru some chedder cheese on top and called it good. It turned out to be the best tasting mystery casseral i ever had:)
