I am at stay at home mom who has catering experience. I have had the passion for food for a while and my children are my best critics. They do not hold back on me. I love to try new recipes and baking is fun to do with kids!
My favorite things to cook
Spanish, Asian and Japanese foods. I lived in Indonesia for about 2 years and picked up alot of different styles of cooking. Java, Surabayan and Cantonese. I am Nicaraguan by birth and growing up with a first generation family I learned how to cook Nicaraguan foods easily.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We all cook together. Hopefully clean together (that's a good day). We definitely need help from friends or family to make the Nicaraguan tamales (which I will post one day) because they are very labor intensive but well worth it!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked for 150 people and they all loved it! Italian wedding and made an American dinner for an anniversary for a friend. Everyone was very happy, even the caterers that were guests! They were asking me for my recipes!
My cooking tragedies
I burned my Spanish rice twice while checking out the deer outside with her babies (I started twice and burned twice) Lesson - do not leave your rice unattended)
