Amazing Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
I've made these twice. They really need to go on the grill for a few minutes on each side, otherwise they taste a little water logged and chewy. It really was a huge difference. We would rate them 2 stars w/out the grill step and 5 stars as written. Very often, the recipes on this site just don't need to be modified.

Boiled Bagels

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
These are the best bagels we have ever had. My dough only took about 3 1/2 cups of flour and 25 min to cook. We made ours into 8 bagels because we had planned on using them to make bagel pizzas - we ate them plain instead. We dipped 4 of the bagels in sesame seed before baking and boy were they good. I plan on putting some jalapeno in the next batch. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Took only 15 min start to finish. Quick, easy and tastes great. I added some Italian seasonings and cooked in my toaster oven 11 min. Very buttery, but very good.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
These are very easy to make and taste alright. I didn't care much for these but the rest of my family loved them. In my opinion, they're a little too heavy.

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
This was so easy. I used 2 1/2 bananas, chopped. I used the ' quick bread ' setting on my machine but I pulled the plug when it still had about 15 min left. The bread was perfect but if I hadn't stopped the cooking early - I think it might have been well overcooked. There were no chunks of banana in the bread, so next time I won't chop the banana so much. Cinnamon was a good addition but I'll add vanilla next time too.

Monkey Bread I

I used slivered almonds that I toasted instead of walnuts and they tasted great. Would recommend using a good quality biscuit dough ( the cheap store brands taste gross in this recipe ).

Watermelon Pops

I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and fat free Cool Whip. Still tastes great. Do need to freeze cream middle in cup before adding green mixture. Good recipe for the kiddies to have fun with.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
I used 1/2 the sugar called for and this was still too sweet. Maybe this is what Macaroni salad is supposed to taste like? This is sugar coated pasta . NOBODY liked this. Won't make this again, unless I omit sugar completely.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

This was good but I think it was missing something in taste. Next time I will add chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumble mixture on top.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I took the advice of Cyndie Schneider and this recipe still didn't work. It tastes like a overly sugary failed attempt at frosting. It would be cheaper to buy frosting (and it would taste better!).

All in all, not a bad recipe but we've had better. We like it so much more without the egg and with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This was great. I was really surprised that it tasted so well. By far the best we've had. Recipe needs no altering.*UPDATE* Have made this many more times and always make a double batch. Freeze the second batch before baking; thaw in fridge overnight and then bake as usual. Lifesaver on busy work days or when my 9 yr old begs for these :)

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
I made the meatballs smaller ( about 24 ) and will make them even smaller next time. We used left over toasted hot dog buns and the guys handled them easily. I do think the meatballs lack something...next time I will add very finely diced onion to the ground beef.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Whoever said to invert after baking - thanks for nothing. Turned otherwise maybe great rolls into a soggy gooey mess. Impossible to eat after icing. Such an awful tasting sloppy mess has scared me away from trying again.

Made this many times. Surprising flavor. Beer adds a unique taste (as long as you don't over do it). Reduced potato cook time by 2 min. It's amazing how many family members show up when they find out what's cooking...

Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
I've made this many times. The first time I followed the recipe exactly and everyone said it was sweet ( maybe a good rib sauce). Second time I reduced the molasses to 1/4 cup and used peaches in lite syrup. Huge difference - perfect HOT SAUCE. Also, second time it kept a good color after molasses was added. In a family where hot is never hot enough - this is a keeper.
