About this Cook
I really enjoy cooking (and researching recipes) in my free time. It's fun cooking something at home that tastes better than most restaurants for about half the cost.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook typically take a long time. I enjoy the process of cooking. I've started to make cheese, which even for something as simple as cheese curds takes about half a day. I'd love to start making salami at home but I need to modify a freezer to control the curing for several months.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Breakfast is one of my favorite traditions. Nothing beats Quiche or Egg Strata on a cold winter morning.
My cooking tragedies
I made a cake for my wife's 29th birthday while she was out for the day. I hid the cake in the drawer with the rolling pin to surprise her later. Who would have guessed that she would need to use the rolling pin that afternoon? She was surprised but not quite like I had wished.

Amazing Mussels
I was surprised how mild this recipe is. Next time I will reduce the broth by a cup and add another pepper.

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms
These were very good. As with most things the taste reflects the quality of the ingredients. I'd highly recommend using Gruyere (or similar cheese) instead of Monterey Jack and use real crab, not imitation.
