Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Very good!My kid's love it! I only put 1 tbls of brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.*Tip* Lay a clean tea/hand towel over your crock and then place then lid on it.This will help keep the water from dripping back inside your applesauce.Making it less runny and a thicker consistency.I also do not mash up all my apple becuase we like it a little chunky.I have used apple juice in place of the water & it taste even better & you need no sugar or at the very least a lower amount depending on your taste.I am on my 3rd crock this week!My kid's just can not get enough of this applesauce! My mom even asked why she did it the old fashioned way when i was a child cuz this taste just as great and very easy to do,lol.I also keep my crock on the "warm" setting as it cook's very very hot and it is done within 3-4 hrs!If i am in a hurry & home from work i then use the low setting & it is done within 1-2 hrs(depending on how thick you slice/chop your apples). Thanks again for a AWESOME RECIPE :))

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Just finished making these for dinner.I had to test one! & they are great! I did use (ground white meat only) turkey.Subed out the water for low soduim beef broth & egg beaters for the egg.Used Italain seasoned bread crumb's,& added 1/4 cup dried minced onion.Used the beef broth to try and mask the turkey flavor and it worked out great! If i did not know it was ground turkey i would not have guessed it was tasted like beef! All in all a great simple recipe. With my changes i got the calories down to 335 per serving,Cholesterol 11.46! Which was what i was aiming for a healthier meatball with great taste! Thanks i will be making this again :)

Broccoli Beef I

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I used a ginger beef marinade and let the meat sit over night in it.Threw it in the crock pot on low for 6hrs.Then i used the "sauce" recipe from this recipe.Worked out great! The meat was tender and the flavor of the sauce went excellent with it! I used a bag steamed broccoli & one bag steamed stir fry veggies.Very yummy can't go wrong with this one! My kid's loved it! Oh i did not use the flour i used 2 tablesppon of cornstarch & it was just right.I served over hot cooked brown rice :) Thanks will make again!

I fallowed the recipe to a "T" Except i did marinade my beef strips for 24.Drained the excess marinade off then tossed them in the slow cooker on low for about 6 hrs.I then made broccoli & beef over brown rice.Tasted fantastic, so tender and my kid's could not get enough. I will use this again.Work's our wonderfully for making the broccoli & beef! Thank you :)

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Very yummy!I doubled the recipe due to having a ton of banana's that needed to be used asap! I did use half whole wheat pastry flour & white flour.Used half the sour cream and added more banana's.Very moist & flavorful.I did not like the frosting on these made them to sweet for me & my kid's agree. To be honest i think they would be great with just a dusting of Confection's sugar & no frosting.I will be making these again.Next time i will try replaceing the butter with apple sauce & All the sour cream with banana's and use all whole wheat pastry flour to make them a healthier treat!Maybe i will even replacing the sugar with honey...Thank you :))

Autumn Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Very tasty muffin recipe. I did use all whole wheat pastry flour.Replace the butter with applesauce. All in all very good. But i think next time i will cut back on the flour by a cup or so.Also i will cut the netmeg back to 1/2 tsp seemed to over power the whole muffin. With the WW flour it did taste a bit "flour-ish".I made a caramel glaze for half and cranberry butter to go with the other half.My kids loved the caramel glaze on these! But, i really love the cranberry butter just goes perfect with these and a hot cup of coffee! I will make again.Thnx :)
