I've been married for 23 yrs and have been blessed with 2 beautiful children. I am a professional hair stylist for the past 25 yrs, hence comes the name 'teasingu2' I love those double meanings! If I'm not out on the Harley, you'll find me in my garden or newly remodeled kitchen. My garden is doing quite well, especially my 50 tomato plants, so I imagine I'll be quite busy come the end of summer. We travel to the carribean quite a bit, so I'm always up for a new tropical taste experience. If I'm stumped with what to make for dinner( unfortunately I have picky eaters) I turn to allrecipes.com for a new idea :) They always come to the rescue. I always read the reviews and suggestions people give before I attempt a new recipe.
My favorite things to cook
I have many favorites so what I cook depends on my mood or the time of year. In the middle of a cold snowy winter and longing for the hot hazy days of summer, I have been known to whip up a potato salad, maybe a tuna macaroni salad and either some barbequed chicken or a thick juicy steak. Italian dishes always go over well with my homemade sauce I make with the tomatoes from the garden and of course anything I bake and bring into the salon works...breads, muffins cookies, etc... the clients look forward each week to see if I can out do myself. Of course, everyone has their favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I can't think of any specific tradition since my gramma passed away 20 yrs ago and shes the one that taught me to how to cook. I take after her because I rarely measure anything unless I'm baking of course.
My cooking triumphs
One of my cooking triumphs is a meatsauce for hotdogs in which I took bits and pieces from a few recipes and created a masterpiece! BUT I never write anything down because I rarely follow a recipe exactly and now I can't seem to duplicate it! :(
My cooking tragedies
My only true cooking tragedy happened long ago when I was 18 and trying to impress a boyfriend with his favorite eggplant parmigana. Needless to say, I never made it before and never cooked the eggplant before assembling it with sauce and cheese! lol...we had a good laugh and he dumped me!
