I am a fun-loving substitute teacher who really enjoys creating new recipes. Often I call some friends for an impromptu lunch. Some nights when my husband has a meeting I ask three or four friends over for an impromptu supper and then play Mexican Train dominoes. I have a family that loves to eat, so they're game for almost anything I try!
My favorite things to cook
I like pasta dishes, desserts, Mexican food, appetizers ,brunch ideas and soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade crescent rolls or cinnamon rolls go with about any big meal. I try to get whoever is in the kitchen to help out with mashing potatoes or tasting sauces. We always have a housefull on Thanksgiving, family and friends both. Usually turkey is on the menu with all the fixings. Leftovers are needed to take home for my adult children. It's also fun to make cookies together at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
My meat sauce for spaghetti or lasagna is a huge hit. My pies are a treat whenever I get around to them.
My cooking tragedies
Making four alarm chili was a big booboo. Not putting flour in brownies made brownie pudding.
