About this Cook
My mother was Home Econoics Teacher, back in the day when every school had funding for one. I was taught to follow every recipe exactly and learned how to cook about anything from a recipe. I moved near my Grandma when I went away to college, there I really learned the "art" of cooking; adjusting recipes and making them taste just right and using what I have to make what I wanted.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bakequite bit. I fix dinner for my husband most nights and I enjoy that
My favorite family cooking traditions
I've almost mastered my Grandmother's famous rolls. I love to help out making Thanksgivng dinner, and we have a extra special nice meal every Sunday night.

Ranch-Style Deviled Eggs
I didn't have any ranch dressing mix, so I substituted 1 tablespoon of prepared mix and decreased the mayo to 3 tablespoons. I also used dijon mustard and sprinkled with paprika for a more traditional look! I'm not a big fan of mustard, but I really enjoyed them because the ranch toned down the mustard flavor. We will make these again!

Old Fashioned Stollen
My husband's parents are immigrants from Germany. They have a tradition of making Stollen and delivering it to all the neighbors on Christmas Eve. My husband always wants to do the same. My mother-in-law gave me the recipe, but without any instructions! This recipe was very similar to hers, so I just followed these instructions and it turned out great! We coated it with some powdered sugar glaze with almond extract. This added just the right taste to compliment it.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread
I made this for a few neighbors around Thanksgiving. I followed the comments, added half the sugar and used applesauce instead of oil. Instead of small chocolate chips, I put the big ones in. Everyone really loved it and wanted the recipe.
