About this Cook
I am a nurse who works overnights. My husband and I have two dogs totalling about 130lbs. They're big girls. I enjoy cooking and love to provide wholesome, healthy meals for us.
My favorite things to cook
Experiments that come out tasty and nigh perfect first try. Those are awesome!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sisters and mother and I used to make mexican meals instead of traditional Easter or Christmas food. It was always so much more fun to make big pans of enchiladas instead of a ham or bird.
My cooking triumphs
I now bake all of our bread instead of buying loaves. It saves money and makes our home smell amazing.
My cooking tragedies
My tragedies mostly have to do with candy. I don't have a candy thermometer and have trouble with determining what stage the sugar is in.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
Even though I messed up the roux by not adding enough flour the soup still thickened nicely and tasted great. I added a can of creamed corn on a whim and it worked beautifully. I'll definitely make this again(I still have leftover ham to use!).
