Bacon Wrapped Bratwurst

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
Wow... what can I say? This is just about as good as it gets. Pork on pork, pure perfection. I did them exactly as the recipe calls with the exception of skewering them like kabobs on bamboo skewers. We have bratwurst in the freezer and I said something about this recipe since it was the one we used the last time we had bratwurst. My husband said "that was the best thing I've had in a long time". He likes to eat and will say something is good, but he rarely makes those type of statements. The sweetness of the brown sugar and the spicy cayenne with the salty bacon. Wow, that just about sums it up. I used Wright's Applewood Bacon, very thick, may have been the final touch to this outstanding dish! You have to try it!

Sweet Mustard Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I, like others, almost always go with recipes that have the most reviews, but I thought I would give this one a shot. I also don't usually review myself but wanted to for this dish and another we recently had. We had these last night and they were really good. I didn't marinade them for very long because I found the recipe at the last minute and time didn't permit. My husband and I both really liked these pork chops. This may sound silly, but it was too hot out to grill them outside, so I did them on my Cuisinart Griddler and that worked out just fine. Give them a try, it's just a matter of time before there are many more reviews!!

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Thank you Ken! I can cook just about anything, people have even told me that I should sell my baked goods. But I could never hard boil an egg, as silly as that sounds. But now I can, thanks to Ken and his incredible technique! I did have one egg crack when I put it in, but I think it might have hit the side of the pan when I dropped it in. The next time I will just lower them in with a spoon. The seven remaining eggs peeled perfectly. I have honestly never had that happen before. And don't think it's from lack of effort! I love deviled eggs and have served up some that look like my cat clawed at the egg white before I stuffed it. Thanks again Ken, you're a genius in my book! My husband is pretty happy too!

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
I haven't tried this yet, but over 20 years ago I lived outside of D.C. and there was a restaurant that we frequented that did this same thing BUT STUFFED THE SHRIMP WITH CHEESE!!!!! They were awesome! Just thought I would pass that option on!

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was delicious! It took some time for the egg white mixture to come to a stiff peak but it was well worth the wait! Plus, this is just more reason that I need that Kitchen Aid stand mixer rather than my hand held! It came right out of the pan when I inverted it. This is also my first angel food cake that I have made so I was a little nervous going in. I followed the recipe exactly and everything was thrilled. We served it up with some chocolate and vanilla swirled frozen yogurt. Yummmmmm!

This was delicious, no complaints at my house! Peaked the potatoes like you would a meringue for a beautiful presentation! Thanks!
