Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Don't change this at all. Perfect. Suggest spreading the topping well over the top instead of clumping.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I used a tin foil tent over the ham and it was great. I would suggest making the sauce as someone said, with cornstarch, because otherwise we served the ham and not much of the yummy glaze was tasted.

Cheesy Baked Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I'm not a huge cauliflower fan, but I LOVED this! It is fattening, yes, but it went together perfectly with the Christmas ham. Don't change the recipe at all. I did cut the cauliflower head into pieces, though, because I wasn't sure if I could bake it as was. But it was harder to put the topping on lots of pieces instead of one head.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I used frozen berries and fresh apples/kiwis, which detracted a little bit but it didn't seem matter because it was delicious. I cut down on the sugar but I wish I hadn't. The pita chips were yummy and I used Trader Joes torillas. The only thing was, my 3 year old, who lives on cinnamon sugar wouldn't eat these, probably b/c of the cooking spray (wasn't butter flavored). I wonder if you can toast them plain and then spread on melted butter plus cinnamon sugar?

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
These are totally addicting. I used them as an appetizer for Christmas, and cooked them along with the ham in the oven which worked very well. I used whole pecans. I made the whole thing again the next day and used water to whip eggs, then I also added the vanilla, which I would do again because they came out even better. I buttered foil on a cookie sheet to save clean-up. Also, beware that the nuts stick together and clump unless you spread them apart, if you care about that. They are tasty warm and perhaps even better the next day so you can make them ahead of time.

Pita Chips

I used Trader Joes tortillas and they were delicious. I also made cinnamon sugar ones (and liked those better because of my tastes I guess).

Creamy Hot Chocolate

I love this. It is very sweet though, so you can cut back on the condensed milk and then add to taste.

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Not bad, although I would use less oil next time. Was also very garlicky and I liked that. I used fresh beans and didn't measure them (about a medium sized round tupperware's worth) so I think I had too much oil.

Peppermint Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
For people who love mint chocolate chip ice cream (I am one) this is the BEST! I couldn't find peppermint IC so I used the mint chip. It took me longer to wash the punch bowl than to make the punch! Yummy.

Chocolate Sheet Cake III

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
I made this for my 3 year old and I never bake anything. It came out great!! I didn't bake it long enough b/c I did it in a round pan that was 9 inches and the center sunk in and I was afraid it would be underdone. . . but everbody loved it. It was very dense and moist. I was confused about the amount of condensed milk b/c the top says it uses a whole can. It didn't taste sweet enough to me with 1/3 can so I put in more and it was great. I also added a 1/4 tsp of maple extract and it was yummy. Not a typical choc cake taste, but a little bit spiced (but not too much or believe me my son wouldn't have eaten one bite).

Glazed Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
Very tasty! I loved how easy it was. I might change the amount of sugar next time and do 2/3 cup or use brown sugar. I found the sugar was very clumpy and had to add water in the skillet. Maybe you just need some more water than I used. People didn't try the almonds much because they looked a little funny with the tan sugar clumped to them. But once you ate one you were addicted!
