I'm a closet chef. My coworkers and running partners swear I survive on cereal and moldy bread. But deep down there's nothing like the smell of a three layer german chocolate cake baking in the oven. Or the first bites of a delicious new recipe. Just don't tell my friends... Pumpkin this and gingerbread that. I do enjoy a challenging recipe, something unusual that most chefs don't attempt. Growing up we weren't the richest family on the block so we were always inventing new ways of using Raman noodles. I think I've seen it all. Winning the 4-H bake off when I was 9 with an apple pie made by myself and completely from scratch. 16 years later and that's my biggest triumph! Hard to choose... When I accidentally used salt instead of sugar while making cookies and watching my mom taste the batter or when I got my hair twisted up in the beaters while mixing something or other. Ouch! Both are funny now!
