Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2008
This was a little bland. I used the garlic alfredo sauce, which i regret. it didn't have a great flavor to begin with. i also added extra garlic, which i thought would make it pop - but eh. it needed salt. i also added a touch of nutmeg, which did give it a nice hint of flavor. this was good, but next time ill use a high end alfredo sauce and add some additional salt. presentation was good.

Fast, Easy, Delicious. Nice subtle hint of lemon and a very moist texture. The outside has a very nice crisp crust. Very pleased with this recipe.

Leek Potato Mushroom Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Yum! Yum! Yum! I added all of my veggies on the first step, including some chopped up brocolli and an onion. I also used a submersion blender at the very end to puree the soup slightly, which gave it a thicker texture. I cut back on the cheese, and still, this was a winner!!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
I followed the recipe to the letter and the cookies taste wonderful. The only change i would make is to double the recipe and make much bigger cookies. The teaspoon size is very small and when i thin of these cookies, i picture nice big ones. Other than that these are delicious and get a very pretty golden brown...just don't leave in a minute too long or they get too brown!

Easy, delish and beautiful. THe perfect thing for a cocktail party. I even forgot to put in the vanilla and they were still fabulous. I split the recipe and used 1 cp. semi sweet chips and 1/2 cp. cinnamon chips in one batch and for the other batch i used 1 cp semi and 1/2 cp dark chocolate chips. WONDERFUL!

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2008
Pretty darn good! I used cream of mushroom (didn't have the celery) and added cooked bacon. It tasted like a loaded baked potato. A wonderful change from the normal potato side dish. The texture was a little thick - so next time ill thin it out - just a tad - with some milk. I also didn't use the corn flakes - i just didn't feel it needed them.

Date Nut Pinwheel Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These were delicious in flavor, but the dough was a little tough to work with. I made the logs and froze them for a few weeks until i needed them. Of all the christmas cookies i made, these were the big hit. I got a lot of great comments on them (and i had about 4 varieties in the box). I'll make these again for sure!

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
This is a beautiful, tasty and sophisticated appetizer. You can also add an almond inside the date (along with the blue cheese) and it creates a nice texture contrast to the creamy date/cheese. This is an unusual and gourmet addition to any party.

Fresh Pear Cake

Very good! I used only 1/2 the sugar and drizzled a powedered sugar and milk glaze over the top. It was delish and my boyfriend said it was the best cake he ever had. I left the pears in nice bite sized chunks and it looked beautiful when you cut into the cake.

these are more like banana muffin tops - very bready. That said, i enjoyed these cookes, but they aren't like your traditional oatmeal cookie. If you enjoy banana bread - then you'll enjoy these.

Peach Cobbler I

All i can say is WOW!!! This is an amazing recipe. I had everything on hand and it was delicious. I took the advice of others and only used 1 cup of sugar, however, next time I'll cut it back even more. I was afraid I did something wrong, because the butter, sugar, flour, egg mixture was very thick, but I guess its supposed to be that thick (like cake batter). Thanks for this recipe - i intend on sharing it with everyone i know. It was a huge hit and was devoured in no time. :)

Shrimp and Crab Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
I made a few modifications on this recipe. I cut wayy back on the mayo. I rendered out a few strips of bacon and then sauteed red onion, garlic and green pepper. I added a few shots of teriyaki and sesame oil. Omitted the almonds (the kids would never eat it with them) and folded in canned diced carrots and peas before baking. It was wonderfully delicious, but only gave it 4 stars because of the amount of modifications that i made.

Shrimp Bisque II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
Delicious - wonderful. I added crab meat and clams (with clam broth) and used a Thai style stock in place of the seafood stock. I also used half and half in place of heavy cream and this came out absolutley fabulous. Just be careful when you light the brandy - use an oven mit - it definately flames up quite a bit.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

This was ok. The glaze burned on the bottom of my roasting pan and gave the meat a bit of a burnt flavor. Not sure if id make this one again. Perhaps if mine didn't burn it would have been better.
