Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Only change is I omitted the ginger (I have an allergy to it). Turned out perfectly - will definitely keep this for future use.

Garlic Ranch Chicken

Very good and simple recipe. I cut the chicken into strips and sprinkled with seasoned salt, garlic powder, and dried basil. Then covered with ranch dressing and baked in the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

Heavenly White Cake

Excellent recipe - hands down best white cake I've ever made. Just increase milk to 1 1/2 cups, and it's perfect.

DJ's Outdoor Pork Loin with Veggies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Very good recipe, and easily converts to on-the-stove tenderloin recipe if you have a VERY large skillet with lid (or stock pot, maybe). Just rub and braise tenderloin on hot skillet, then pour all the rest of the ingredients together into the skillet (juices, water, and veggies) and cover on medium heat until meat and veggies are done (about 30-45 minutes). I also substituted apple juice for orange juice (personal preference) - not citrus flavor, just enhances the apple flavor a bit. Wonderful recipe, husband has requested this for Christmas dinner. Thanks for posting!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
This was an okay recipe, but I've honestly had better. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers by adding peanut butter and vanilla to other wet ingredients to boil, which could be why they didn't solidify very well (even put them in the freezer to get them to harden, which worked until we started eating them). They also didn't have as strong of a peanut butter flavor as I prefer.

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
Amazing recipe - five stars for flavor (not too sweet, smooth chocolate and buttercream flavor) consistency (good for decorating - just add 1 tsp milk at a time until reach spreading consistency), and simplicity (really, it's hard to mess this up). Used it on a 9x13" cake (doubled recipe)... look no further for a perfectly balanced chocolate icing.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
Great flavor, but didn't rise very well at all - very dense, not light and fluffy like cake should be. I was disappointed and will probably try a different recipe next time.

Glazed Apple Cream Pie

This is a fabulous recipe - only change I made was to double the cinnamon. Beware - this pie disappears fast!

Stuffed Pepper Soup IV

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
Great recipe - easy to make for a crowd. I doubled this recipe and fed 12 (including several big eaters) and still had lots of leftovers. Only changes were that I omitted the onion, used taco seasoning packet instead of individual spices, and accidentally used 28 oz tomato sauce can instead of the 15oz can - it actually makes it more soupy, so I recommend trying it. Everyone loved it, thanks for the recipe!

Creamed Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
This recipe is one of my husband's favorites since we've been married, so I thought I should get around to saying so. You can help boost the flavor a lot by adding Worchesteshire sauce and seasoned salt to the beef/onions while browning, and then adding more seasoned salt to taste once the gravy thickens. Last time we added chopped green pepper to the beef/onion mix and it added some freshness - you can also use unfrozen peas instead of canned for fresher taste. The gravy does take a while to thicken, but it's worth the wait - just keep stirring over med heat. Thanks for posting this - it's an easy meal that makes great leftovers!

Basic British Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2007
This was a great recipe, and really easy to prepare. My husband who has been to the UK several times claimed that they tasted authentic. The only thing I did differently was instead of cutting out the rounds I separated the dough in half and shaped each half into a large circle - 3/4 inch thick. Then cut them like a pie into six slices each and baked them that way. They looked more like the typical scone and baked perfectly. Again, great recipe - thanks!
