About this Cook
I've been married for 11 years to my wonderful husband, Rob. I am a certified dental assistant but currently working as a dental receptionist. I prefer to bake (my way of relaxing/stress relief) but I have come to enjoy cooking (always trying new recipes). My other hobbies (other than recipe collecting) include running, music, trail bike riding, kayaking, reading, and cars.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cookies...any and every kind of cookie. My favorite meals include either pasta or chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every time I have to cook for a larger gathering, I always have new recipes for everybody to try. People always know they are my 'food guinea pigs'.
My cooking triumphs
Every new dish and/or meal is a cooking triumph. I love trying different things.
My cooking tragedies
Where shall I start? Too many to list but I do believe I am getting better. As long as it is somewhat edible....

Classic Macaroni Salad
A great salad! I did use a finely chopped red onion, substituted apple cider vinegar for the white vinegar, reduced the amount of sugar in half, plus added carrot and dried dill weed. Think I might reduce the amount of pasta next time to make it just a little creamier, but otherwise everybody loved it.

Cheddar Baked Chicken
Good stuff! I sprinkled the chicken with a little extra pepper before starting. I also decreased the amount of butter in the bottom of the baking dish by half, and also did not drizzle the extra butter over top.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies
Pretty darn good brownies. I didn't add the walnuts; wished I had added mini-chocolate chips though. Was expecting them to be a little higher/thicker. Will definitely be making again (with butter instead of oil) and adding those mini chips!
