About this Cook
I've been married for 9 years to my wonderful husband, Rob. I am a certified dental assistant but currently working as a dental receptionist. I prefer to bake (my way of relaxing) but I have come to enjoy cooking (always trying new recipes). My other hobbies (other than recipe collecting) include running, music, cross-stitching, reading, and cars.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cookies...any and every kind of cookie. My favorite meals include either pasta or chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every time I have to cook for a larger gathering, I always have new recipes for everybody to try. People always know they are my 'food guinea pigs'.
My cooking triumphs
Every new dish and/or meal is a cooking triumph. I love doing different things.
My cooking tragedies
Where shall I start? Too many to list but I do believe I am getting better. As long as it is somewhat edible....

Baklava
Absolutely delish! I've never used phyllo pastry before, but it was actually pretty easy to use. It'll be another special event item.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
This is one of the best creamy soups I've tried! The only thing I changed was that I didn't add any salt as the ham piece I chopped up seemed salty already. Next time, I'm gonna add finely chopped carrots and use farmers sausage instead of the ham. A definite make again! Thanks.

Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie Logs
Very easy to make and tasty too. For half of the cookies, I just dipped one end into the chocolate; for the other half of the cookies, I just left plain. Tasty, either way.
