About this Cook
I'm a busy wife and mom. I've sold baked goods and jellies at Farmer's Market. I homeschool my kids and love to garden, bake, cook, can, camp, and sew. We live on a farm and raise Katahdin Hair sheep and chickens. I have 4 girls ages 3yo to 18yo.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making candies and desserts. I love stir fried veggies. I love baking bread. It's fun to make food that looks good!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cinnamon Rolls on Sabbath morning. Homemade Pizza for birthdays. Potato Soup and Homemade French Bread in winter. Lots of Christmas Cookies at Christmas time. Christmas Baklava for the Fire Department.
My cooking triumphs
Jelly and Jams! Self-learned and people love them!
My cooking tragedies
I have plenty. From rock hard bread to burnt desserts. Canned creamed corn that was burned dry... UGH! But with practice, I keep learning new things. I love trying new recipes when time allows. Dh usually requests an item for me to master... the first few tries are usually not worth mentioning, but with practice I usually get it right to where the ENTIRE family will enjoy it.

Pumpkin Nut Muffins
We enjoyed these muffins. The texture is good, it is the right amount of sweetness, but the spice in our opinions is a little flat.

Kiwi Strawberry Smoothie
We tried this recipe similar to this and we were all very happy with it. I absolutely loved the way the kiwi seeds crunched in the drink. We are looking forward to using it again. The recipe we used also had 1 c. of ice with it. Likely a bit more strawberry (1 c.). We also just used regular vanilla yogurt since our fruit was frozen. Enjoy!
