About this Cook
I love cooking! My mother has always been a fantastic cook, and I have grown up around good food. People are always shocked when I bring in these delicious homecooked meals for lunch and I say I've made them.
My favorite things to cook
Right now, I am on a huge crockpot kick. Roasts, thai chicken, desserts, stews, etc. I work full-time through the week, and there is nothing better to come home to then a house filled with a hearty, rich aroma.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas always brings homemade pierogies and cabbage rolls from Mom. These are my favourites. I think this year, I am going to try and make them myself.
My cooking triumphs
* pasta from scratch * my first full course thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings * my first full course christmas dinner with all the trimmings *White Dark Chocolate Dacquoise Cake
My cooking tragedies
Well, in the aforementioned thanksgiving dinner, i was trying to make stuffing from scratch. I am Canadian, and most recipes are done in imperial measurements, rather than metric -- quarts, pints, etc. I know litres, and grams. So, I was trying to figure out what 4 quarts of bread would equal in litres. Needless to say, I had piles upon piles of breadcubes, everywhere! In the end, it turned out fabulously.

Chili I
This chili recipe was pretty good. Waaaay too many kidney beans though. I'd definately scale it back a bit. And, I didn't really find it that spicy hot, but again, everyone's tastes are different.

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops
This dish was fairly decent, however, I did find it a bit too salty as other people on here did as well. Next time, I'd maybe go with a bit less soy sauce, maybe 1/4 cup. There's plenty of liquid, so I can't see being that big of a deal. Also, next time, I think I'm gonna add some pineapple juice, just to sweeten it up a bit more. The meat was super tender though, it almost fell apart as I tried to take them out of the pan.

Proper English Cottage Pie
This pie was pretty awesome. Both me and my boyfriend loved it! I will definately be making this again.
