About this Cook
I am a proud wife of 12 years and mom to 2 wonderful daughters, ages 11 and 9. I work from home, part-time, and love to cook meals for my family that brings oooh's and aaah's at the dinner table. In my spare-time (yeah, right!) I love to scrapbook and take photos of my favorite subjects, my family. :-) I chose the football/snack image because I am a HUGE NFL Football fan and LOVE the Pittsburgh Steelers! My hubby and I love to watch games all day on Sunday and I would love to find some more low-sodium snacks to make for half-time.
My favorite things to cook
Unfortunately, once I find a dish that my family does rave over, I cook it to death, every week until they get sick and tired of it. I cook well, but not a huge variety of items. It's even more difficult to find new dishes to cook, especially when my husband is on a very restricted low sodium diet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make home-made chili every Halloween that hits the spot after walking out in the chilly evening air. We top it off with FRITOS, onions and cheese. YUM!!!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest fan favorite dish is my Blue Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms. Even folks who don't care for blue cheese LOVE this dish! It's requested at EVERY function I go to and it's so easy to make too!
My cooking tragedies
SIGH...it wasn't totally my fault, but I attempted to make my first Thanksgiving turkey a few years ago and my pilot light kept going out in the oven and I had no way of telling if the turkey was done or not. Well, after cooking it for about 10 hours, it was STILL undercooked and our dinner ended up being all the "sides" that I made that evening. I haven't attemped another turkey since then.

Slow Cooker Tamale Pie
The hubby and I loved this dish! The kids, not so much. Next time, I would definitely double this recipe and be sure to eat it soon after it's completed, as it tends to get dry after awhile. Thanks for a quick, easy and tasty recipe!

Grandma's Corn Chowder
This dish is very easy to make and super delicious! My whole family (kids included) thoroughly enjoyed it. I only made 2 minor changes. 1) I used 2 cans creamed corn and 1 can whole kernel corn for extra crunch. 2) I would add the bacon towards the end to keep it from getting soggy. YUMMY!!!!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
YUMMY! I used 2 boxes of cornbread stuffing mix and added the rest of the ingredients and it turned out wonderfully! The entire family and our guests loved this dish.
