I loved this!!!! I wanted to make a yummy but easy pie for Thanksgiving, and I came across this recipe. Unfortunately I didn't have a pie pan, so I just layered the ingredients...crust-apple mixture-topping...into one of my baking dishes. I took one's advice and doubled the topping mixture to make it extra thick and crumbly. It turned out beautifully! I served it with French Vanilla ice cream to make it even more decadent. It was a huge hit at the Thanksgiving table. Thanks!

I made this for a family gathering recently, and they all loved it! I did make a few minor adjustments to the original recipe. I sauteed the onions and one finely chopped red bell pepper (mostly for some extra color) in the butter before adding the other ingredients. I also stirred some additional shredded cheese into the bean mixture before transferring it to the baking dish. I loved the added crunch that the cracker topping gave the dish. This one is definitely a keeper. Thanks!

I came across this recipe while searching for a "strawberry shortcake" substitute. I put this topping over a slice of pound cake, and my family LOVED it! This recipe has so many possible applications, and I can't wait to explore them all. Thanks for a quick and easy recipe.
