About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new recipes, along with perfecting my usual favourites. I know I've got a winner when I get rave reviews from family and friends on my cooking/baking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Anything that my mom (or dad) cooked or baked growing up.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to make a pecan pie where it said to add the beaten eggs to the hot mixture...well, you can see where that went. Yum...curdled egg pie. It was gross. I have learned a lot since then.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes
I did something similar, and the balsamic really hit the spot! I'd add the balsamic before the potatoes got to the crispy stage next time.

Irresistible Pecan Pie
I used my own crust recipe, and the filling from this recipe (with 1/2 tsp vanilla). Tasty! I'd make again.

Chocolate Mousse
With changes: 5 stars! I used 3 squares of semisweet chocolate and turned the tbsp of water into espresso. I also beat the egg white from the egg until soft peaks, then added a small pinch of tartar. I folded the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg white mixture, then folded that into the whipped cream mixture. Yum!
