About this Cook
I am a Pampered Chef consultant who loves to experiment with recipes while playing with all of my fabulous kitchen toys! Visit me online at http://www.pamperedchef.biz/angietomlinson
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Any chance I can get, I am looking up new recipes to explore.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make my Great-Grandmother's Mexican recipes. Her variations on Mole and Enchiladas are always a big hit in my house! And, though I don't make them often, when tamales are made, we have to make them by the gross to meet the family's demand.
My cooking triumphs
I made my own wedding cake and my guests raved. They all wanted to know what bakery I had used.
My cooking tragedies
Just imagine: yeast gone awry! Though I love to bake, I don't do breads anymore... :)

Brown Sugar Pound Cake I
I didn't realize that this recipe made so much! I only had a loaf pan. I would highly recommend halving the recipe if you're not wanting to make a large bundt. I ended up having to make two loaves because I had so much batter. When using a loaf pan, increase the cooking time to 75 minutes. At 60 minutes, it's still gooey in the middle. Also, for a better flavor, use a tablespoon of vanilla and a teaspoon of almond extract. That helps with the complaints on here about the cake being too bland. Also, I sprinkled a sweet cinnamon sprinkle on top with crushed walnuts and it came out delicious (the ends were a little tough, but soften up nicely with whipped cream on top). :) All in all, a delicious cake recipe I'll add to my box.

Vanilla Ice Cream VIII
It was a little runny and didn't quite freeze enough, but was relatively creamy. I think if I make it again I'll freeze it overnight to let it set. It has a good flavor to it. I added some orange extract to it and it had a dreamsicle flavor to it. :)
