champaign after a good meal (in Grand Canaria)

About this Cook
I'm from Iowa, but due to a fella (and someday school) I'm living in Norway. I have lots of free time on my hands these days to cook, sew, read, get crafty and be all homey. I'm also a huge music fan, I like all sorts ;)
My favorite things to cook
vegetarian food! Specifically vegetables from different countries I visit (or have lived in). I discovered some extraordinary one's in Central America and in the Canary Islands(sadly you can only get them there). Also I love adding veggies to foods in a way that is unexpected but delicious. Since I have so much extra time these days I am tackling the world of baking- for it's something I have little experience with. Other then that I've been a vegetarian for almost six years and I'm a damn good veggie cook :) ps- I have a weakness for soups and coffee
My favorite family cooking traditions
My great grandma was an amazing cook and I remember her kolaches like it was yesterday. I love my Czech ancestry so I love Czech cooking (and hopefully baking soon ;)

Vegetarian Korma
really good! added califlower instead of potato. Also followed tips of additional spices and used sour cream instead of heavy cream (all I had, was going to use coconut milk but out of that too). Turned out quite good!

Carrot Ginger Creme
the recipe was is only 3 star, I ended up having to added 3x ginger and 1/4-1/2 cup orange juice. That did the trick and it ended up 5 star!
