Apple-Cheddar Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Incredible burgers! Easy to make, lots of great flavors, and the ingredients are almost always on hand. This will become a staple in our house - we love ground turkey.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2009
Used 1 c milk with 1/3 c heavy cream the first time I made this. Also used ham instead of bacon and some nutmeg instead of cayenne pepper. I am making it again tonight with just milk. Both times I made this recipe I used 6 eggs. I would highly recommend sauteing the onion in some butter before adding to mixture. Cover the edges of the crust until the end of bake time. Delicious and easy to adapt - you can really add anything you like!

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
I very simple and tasty recipe. I cut it in half because I only had one box of muffin mix on hand, and it still made a dozen muffins. I omitted the brown sugar, used 5 cut-up hot dogs, and put in a lot of cheese. The more the better! I will definitely make these again, and maybe change up the recipe a little bit with some different add-ins. We're going to eat them with potato soup.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Delicious and easy! I added less milk than the recipe called for and used any crackers I had on hand. I will definitely make this again.

London Broil

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
Delicious and lemony. I did not use MSG, and since I did not have tarragon vinegar I just mixed regular vinegar with dried tarragon. I marinated the london broil in the fridge over night. I will definitely make this again.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
These were incredible and easy to make. I used the fresh cranberries and cut them in half. I also used orange juice concentrate instead of just orange juice because I had a can out for another cookie recipe. We normally do not prefer icing on cookies, but it helped balance out the sweet and the bitter cranberries. Incredible!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This dish was fantastic! I made it to go with eggs on Christmas morning and it was a huge hit. We ate the leftovers with dinner. The only change I made was to use half sharp white cheddar with regular cheddar. Adding more ham would make this a good winter entree. I will be using this recipe A LOT!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I am not a huge lasagna fan, but my husband enjoyed this recipe. I did not have crushed tomatoes, so I substituted in tomato sauce. I also blended the cottage cheese, egg, and parmesan in the food processor like some other reviews mentioned. It was good, but I am sure there are better recipes out there.

Chicken and Chorizo Pasta Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
FYI: Chorizo has an interesting taste if you have never eaten it. I cooked mine up the night before making this recipe. I actually made it, and then wasn't sure what to do with it. Yay for All Recipes! This was great! I changed it up just a little bit: I used milk instead of the cream, red AND green pepper, shrimp instead of chicken, and one 6oz can of tomato paste mixed with 1/2 cup water, then added just a little spaghetti sauce with the milk and the red pepper flakes. YUM! We will definitely have this again. I loved it with shrimp and will throw in more next time. Husband liked it too.

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
I boiled the cauliflower in the 3 cups of broth, but them poured out half of it before mashing it up. I think the butter could easily be omitted. I will definitely make this again. It was great with steak and green beans, and a nice alternative to mashed potatoes!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
These were FANTASTIC! We cooked the chicken on the George Foreman grill and shredded it instead of using cubed chicken. I also substituted 12 corn tortillas because they have a better taste and because I am not a fan of the flour ones. (I lived in Mexico during college and never ate a flour tortilla!) I poured a can of enchilada sauce over the white sauce, which made for a nice mix. They only took about 1

Appetizer Crab Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
This is delicious! I changed it up a little bit to save some time... I started with two tubes of refrigerated pizza dough (one on top of the other) and pressed it out to fill a cookie sheet. I baked it until it was slightly browned, then went back and baked it longer once I had added the topping. I used a package of imitation crab and a package of imitation lobster (neither canned) in place of all crab. I added a little more of each seasoning than the recipe called for. I think shrimp would also be a nice addition. I did not use the entire cream cheese mixture on the pizza - I would probably scale back on this next time. The pizza tastes best right out of the oven...I served it at a pot luck dinner and the taste wasn't nearly as good as it cooled. I reheated it this week in the toaster oven and it was good leftover. I will definitely make this again.

All-Purpose Rub for Meat

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
Even with recommended adjustments, I was not particularly fond of this rub. I cut the recipe in half to use on three boneless pork chops, and further cut the salt, but it was still too much for me. My boyfriend liked it alot, but I probably wouldn't make it again.

Broiled Scallops

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
I didn't change anything from the original recipe, but I think the next time I prepare it I will adapt the recipe according to the other suggestions. It is a very quick and easy supper. The scallops did not brown very much under the broiler, so don't use that as your guide for readiness!

Dressed Up Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
This is a very simple and delicious chicken recipe. The next time I make it, I am going to marinade the chicken breasts in the italian dressing after pounding them out. We didn't have buttermilk on hand, so we combined 1 cup of milk with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Definitely use seasoned bread crumbs.

All-Day Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
My sister and I made these to serve at a party. We doubled the recipe, and found that the meatballs were very difficult to form because of the liquids in the mixture. They went into the crockpot anyway, and became more "meatlumps" than meatballs. Although not picture perfect, guests raved about the flavor and they were very easy to make! I would definitely prepare these again!

Amazing Crab Shells

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
My sister and I prepared this dish for a party and many guests told us how delicious it was! I would add more celery next time, just for a little extra crunch. Also, I recommend allowing the cream cheese to soften before starting the recipe (although the directions do not tell you to do so) and chopping the crab before adding it to the mixture. Yum!
