I am just building family and friend traditions and food is a great part of that. I love canning jellies, chutney, and vegies. I love canning with my two best girlfriends. We will drive to apple hill and purchase several cases of apples. Then we will go to my friends house at Lake Tahoe and make jelly, apple sauce, apple butter and pie filling. It's an all day / all night event. Between cooking, we sip wine, read magazines, sit in the spa and chat. Our supplies usually last until its time to get together again the next year. Learning to boil water was a challenge for me. Mom didn't have time to teach me, so taught myself. It's been a fun journey. If mom could see me now! Too many to count. But good lessons!
