About this Cook
I am the working Mom of 3 kids ages 8.5 and 6.5 year old twins. I work as a Nurse in a Family Practice clinic and volunteer at my kids school. When time allows I like to experiment in the kitchen and dream up new recipes. I love allrecipes since it allows me to combine a whole bunch of well respected recipes and see what I end up with. I love Iron Chef because they create the oddest ideas of of the most basic or crazy ingredients!
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake, brine, pickle, and experiment with any great new idea or recipe ingredient. I make my own stock and find it is always such a nice touch to adding flavor to a recipe. Often it is just what is needed to make a recipe shine!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Iam from a Northern European family. On Christmas morning we eat Crub, a huge ball of potato with a bacon treat in the middle. My kids like it, my husband loves to call it crud! It is the most basic idea but reminds me of my Grandfather and being a little girl. Now it is time to create some of our own family traditions.
My cooking tragedies
I have a hard time with roasts, always have. I just cannot get my timing right. I leave those to my husband since he is the master of the grill.

Holiday Cranberry Chutney
My kids loved it! They were surprised I served it with their meal because they thought it was yummy enough to be dessert. Not too sweet. Smells like the best Christmas candle you can find. YUM!

Eggplant Bake
Oh my gosh! This is the best thing I have eaten in ages. All 3 kids devoured it. Broke my heart their were no left overs. I did not have feta so I used some fresh mozzarella. My only bread crumbs on hand where panko-I think they may have worked better because they stayed really crunchy. It probably is just as good the way it is written though.
