Heaven on a Plate
About this Cook
Actively involved in my family. Committed to living for Jesus Christ.
My favorite things to cook
With such a challenging and demanding job I don't have time to "slave" over a stove so my favorite things to cook would be slow cooker recipes or 30-minute meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family cooking traditions is soul food. A normal weekend meal or holiday tradition would be Pork Bones, Turkey Necks, Mustard Greens with Ham Hocks, Sweet Potatoes with brown sugar and butter and two or three pans of honey butter corn muffins.
My cooking triumphs
Thanks to Allrecipes.com there have been too many to name here. This site is great and I depend on the reviews which guide me in my meal decisions.
My cooking tragedies
As with any dish, it's contigent upon your particular taste. For example, you may like lots of salt or very little, loads of garlic or a hint of garlic. With that said, it's important to taste your food as you go. I'm glad to report that the only cooking tragedy I've had was not uploading my reviews after preparing many of the meals on this site. I consider it a tragedy because my family has enjoyed some wonderful dishes from Allrecipes.com and have allowed me to bring other cultural dishes that my children absolutely love.

Detroit Hot Honey Wings
These wings are DANGEROUS - haha! I have just finished preparing this dish and they are "off-the-chain"! I promise you my wings look exactly like the photo above. They not only look great but they taste even better. The only thing I added was garlic and used Louisiana Hot Sauce and a side of macaroni & cheese. This will be come a staple in my home. Thanks for sharing!

Dry Rub for Ribs
Awesome rub! I used this reipe on May 24, 2009 (Memorial Day). Used the rub on baby back ribs (remove the membrane on the back of the ribs then use rub), chicken and sausage. Everyone raved about the meat and how good it tasted. Denise, I used your rub along with Sweet Ray's Bar-b-que Sauce and I couldn't stop eating! Thank you for sharing!

Baby Back Ribs
Awesome recipe! I removed the membrane from the back of the ribs, then rubbed the ribs front & back with the "Dry Rub for Ribs" recipe from this site and used "Sweet Ray's Bar-b-que Sauce". These baby back ribs were falling off-the-bone. My fiance' even asked for a to go plate. This recipe is definitely a keeper! Thanks Kheffn!
