About this Cook
I am a mom wife who has wonderful children and husband to cook for and I love to cook.
My favorite things to cook
I love mexican, southern, desserts, italian and I make some great BBQ.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of southern cooks. I am the most "advanced" cook to date.
My cooking triumphs
I love cake decorating, would love to take a class. I pride myself on never buying a store bought birthday cake for my kids. I am experienced at BBQ cookoffs and blue ribbon winning at the county fair.
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes things don't turn out quite like we intended like the time that I burnt chicken and dumplings, which is my signature dish, for a boyfriend once. To my defense, I was 16 at the time.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw
This recipe has been in my arsenal for about 6 years now. It is definately hands down the best coleslaw I have ever had. I would reccomend making it at least 3 days ahead of the day you intend on eating it. It does make alot, but hey it keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge! Be sure to add enough pepper for the correct bite. In my mind it puts all vinegar coleslaws to shame. Forget about mayo based. This is the best.

Chicken Macaroni
I gave it 4 stars just because I changed it. It is a great base recipe. I used precooked rotisserie chicken and just deboned it and chopped. I didn't have a can of green chile's so I used a can of mild Rotel and omitted the broth. I also sauteed the onions. I used one and a half package of the mexican elbow macaroni and layered that mixture with shredded cheddar cheese. My kids were skeptical when they came in the kitchen and looked it in the process, but loved it when it came out of the oven. It's like a King Ranch Chicken Casserole with noodles instead of tortillas!
