About this Cook
grew up on the outskirts of neworleans spending time with friends and famialy usually in the kitchen. i have a passion for cooking that i got from my pa-pa and grandmother that time has only expanded. now i find takeing famialy recepies and makeing them healither a great way to pass the cold and offten rainy washington coast days.
My favorite things to cook
one a year peanut butter pound cake, grandma's chillie , pa-pa's broccolie rice cassrole
My favorite family cooking traditions
"if you want to eat those beans you have to start snappin"- Grandma / everyone got a little pile of green beans (size depending on age) and grandma wouldn't start cooking the beans untill you're pile was snapped. that is unless you were her grandkids who could do no wrong
My cooking triumphs
never had a cake fall in my lifetime/ finialy managed to flip a sunny side up egg..
My cooking tragedies
couldn't flip a sunny side up egg untill i was 19.

Baked Potato Soup III
so boyfriend hasnt' issued his vote yet but i did make a few maijor changes.. first being i used two tabs of butter not 2/3 a cup i also used soy milk and red onion rather than green (green is a garnish)rather than bacon i used some left over sprial ham the boyfriend kindly parted with. the cheese and sour cream stayed but i used a bit less of the cream and added some organic chicken broth (it was on sale!) a bit more fresh ground black peper and some cajuin spices and garlic oh and a pinch of thyme too...soup seemed a little thin still so i added a bit of corn starch to thicken it up and it looks great! even the boyfriends brother who hates soymilk with a passion said it smelled good in here will post the restults after dinner :)
