Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
The name is dead on! We added some veggies and potatoes to give it some depth and that's all it needed. Great recipe!

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

They are pretty darned delicious - I recommend adding the broil step to ensure that you get crispier versus soggier! :)

Super Short Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Pretty darned good - I didn't have the opportunity to marinate like other reviewers suggested, but it was still quite good - used fresh pineaple, tasty! Also didn't have chille sauce around so I used ketchup and tobasco type sauce - worked out very well. Will try it again for sure. I also don't have a Dutch oven so I used a frying pan for the first part (browning the meat) and then a baking pan with foil for the baking part - worked well.

Tofu Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
The importance of following this recipe to the tee is really important - I made the error of not creaming the spinach enough and lumps of tofu is a NO NO! also - make sure that you use enough garlic/spices because that's what makes this dish. I'd have to make it again before rating it better.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
*** edit - made them again trying to add the topping later - I preferred it the original way because the topping falls off if you to the ten minute addition. Also, we added a half a cup of chocolate chips - I would suggest adding a third of a cup because it's a titch too chocolatey - but still delish! I doubt another review is needed - but YUM! I added a titch of vanilla to the banana portion before mixing and they were delicious. The only thing I would change is how much batter I put in my muffin pan - I accidentally overfilled them and had a bit of an overflow - I still ate four tonight!

Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
The beets were delicious and the greens tasted good - I actually thought that the onion was a bit much. My husband liked the beets better than the greens - he said that it felt like he was using his molars as they were intended ;) Good recipe, nice way to use all of the food. Will make again.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I only give this recipe a three because if you follow the directions without the other reviewers suggestions (which I accidentally did, meant to add the rum or vanilla) - It's rather flavorless. the texture and moisture is excellenet, just needed a pop (nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla or rum!) I'll do this recipe again with the edits :) Oh, and I doubled the recipe, did two loafs and they were ready at 1:10.

After-Christmas Turkey Potpie

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
What a great way to enjoy your holiday leftovers! We served this to another couple and it was just enough for four and it was a great heartwarming pot pie. I would recommend it for a cold night :)

Jackie's Special Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
An easy quick prep tasty meatloaf- it was a wet prep so I was worried when molding it into its loaf, but it worked out great. My husbands only complaint was that there weren't any onion chuncks (since the recipe doesn't call for it) so maybe next time I'll add that! Yum

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
I thought that it was a little bland. I didn't use enough banana, so just make sure you go for the gusto with the full banana requirement or add other spices to offset the lack o' banana flavor :) The color and texture were great however.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
WOW - seriously the single best recipe I've tried to date, and I use this site for all of my recipes. I don't love spicy (and neither does hubby) so for the mayo we used one pepper with a little of the adobo and left out the cayene and it was perfect. My husband said best meal of the year! I'm still drooling over them! I added chopped tomatoes instead of a salsa and it was super.

Taco-Stuffed Pepper Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
Really easy and delicious - I DID use three peppers instead of two and they were full with the fillings. I would also use a little more taco seasoning next time as the filling was a little bland. I will make this again! :)
