About this Cook
I have been cooking and baking since I was a very young child. My grandmother was a caterer, so I had a lot of practice helping her make all sorts of things, like cakes, mini sandwiches, etc. I am in my late twenties now, and I cook or bake something practically every single day. I have two daughters now, and they both enjoy helping me create delicious meals and treats.
My favorite things to cook
My oldest daughter loves to make cookies, so we do that a lot. I personally love to bake bread of all kinds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Saturday growing up, I would help my mom make white bread. We would make enough dough to make about four loaves of bread and we would also set some aside to fry scones for lunch. We would put butter and homemade jam or honey on them
My cooking triumphs
I catered my twin brother's wedding, and everyone was raving about the food. I had several calls from guests at the wedding wanting the recipes of the food that I made. It was nice to be carrying on the traditions of my grandmother.
My cooking tragedies
As a teenager I liked to experience maybe too much. I made a big pot of rice once, and decided it would be a good idea to add soy sauce to it while it was cooking. Well, it wasn't. It burned the rice or something... It completely ruined the whole pot.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies I
As I read through the recipe, I noticed two ingredients that are usually in cookies were missing... salt and baking soda. I added 1/4 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. baking soda. The cookies were wonderful! They have a soft, tender texture, not to mention, they make your house smell awesome! I also reduced the amount of white chocolate chips, but that was mainly for personal preference. I thought baking them at a lower temperature for a little longer worked very well for this particular cookie. I will be adding this recipe to my "favorite cookie collection"! YUMMY!

Clone of a Cinnabon
This recipe makes the most tender, delicious cinnamon rolls. I would have to say that they are better than Cinnabon. I always prefer homemade to store bought any day of the week. These are incredible, especially on a cold fall morning! YUMMY!

School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls
They are wonderful. I make these rolls every Sunday for dinner, and have done for months now. Instead of sugar in the yeast I use honey. It seems to grow faster. I also use quick rise yeast just to speed up the process a bit. I have also used this recipe to make white bread. It makes two large loaves. I usually make braided bread and bake it on a cookie sheet. It is wonderful every single time.
