Pear Pie III

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I thought this was ok. It certainly was nice to have a different type of fruit pie, however, I think I'll look for other pear recipes. I mad this for my husband, parents, and brother, and none of us thought it was really anything special.

Sarah's Tofu Noodle Soup

This is a good soup recipe. Nothing too fancy, but very tasty. I made it once with the raisins, and once without. It is good both ways, but I think I prefer it without. The raisins give a very interesting sweet taste, and is definitely worth a try.

Boiled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
You can't go wrong with this recipe. This is the first recipe I used from this site, and it is so versatile! I usually make it for enchiladas, but it also makes amazing soup, or chicken for any other recipe! It is funny that you'd need a recipe for something that seems as basic as boiled chicken, but three years ago I had no idea how to make shredded chicken. Now I make it all the time!! Thanks!

Ultimate High Altitude Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
YUM! For two years I've been trying to make good chocolate chip cookies in Colorado Springs. They are always flavorless. This recipe is perfect!!! I did use half wheat and half white flour. Good thing I only made a half-batch, because I cannot stop eating them!

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
YUM! Like others, I used one sweet potato instead two regular. I had leftover baked squash in the freezer, so the whole recipe only took me about 25 minutes from start to finish. I didn't add any spices, and I thought it had amazing flavor! It definitely did not require milk or sour cream, but this could be partially due to the sweet potato substitution. For a fast, low-cost, super-healthy meal, this recipe is great!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

This was pretty darn good. I live at 6,000 feet, so I did my usual alterations (a little less baking powder and a little more liquid). I used applesauce in place of most of the oil, as I often do when baking. Turned out great--moist, but dense, and just the right amount of sweetness!

Tasty Buckwheat Pancakes

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
My husband and I both loved these pancakes! They turned out with great texture and flavor. I used spelt flour instead of the all-purpose, and only used 1 T. of oil. We've been looking for a good multigrain pancake recipe and this one is it!
