Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Wonderful! I've also tried it with white wine instead of beer and is equally as good if not better. I use eye of round roast b/c its leaner. Delicious!!! Going into regular dinner rotation!!!

World's Best Lasagna

It was good but I've certainly had better in restaurants. I served it to friends and people ate it but didn't ooo and ahhh over it like they usually do over my cooking. The recipe title had me expecting more.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Not great. Chicken was sort of dry. The flavoring didn't really penetrate the chicken like you expect from a slow cooker recipe. Will not make this one again.

Delicious Grilled Hamburgers

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
I give this recipe 5 stars on one condition - reduce liquid smoke to 1/4 teaspoon. I cannot fathom 1T. I don't like recipes with lots of chopped veggies and eggs and bread - I think the burgers end up tasting like meatloaf instead of burgers. This recipe gave the burgers a real meaty, smoky taste. I used 90% (or was it 93%???) lean beef and they tasted better than lean burgers usually taste.

Baked Lemon Chicken

Even with broiling it to crisp the top - it was just OK. I was really expecting more after all of the good reviews.

Thick Cut-Outs

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
Doubled vanilla and added almond for more flavor. Cookies turn out beautifully - will never use another cut out recipe. I've made these 3 times now and get rave reviews b/c they are so pretty. I didn't use the glaze from this recipe. I use "Sugar Cookie Icing" from this site.

Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Really good recipe. I followed it exactly. Makes big cookies. Dough easy to work with and freezes well too. Some said they were too crumbly I didn't find that at all.

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
These were fantastic. Everyone from my health-food phobic husband to my won't eat anything two year old gobbled these up. I did throw a handful of mini chocolate chips in (but the would be great w/o it). I didn't have powdered milk - so I omitted it. I also added cinnamon as others suggested. New Weekend tradition

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Excellent flavor! Kids and hubby loved it. Spicy but not too spicy. Ingredients are things I usually have on hand. I grilled mine on grill pan b/c I got rained out - still very good!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I followed the recipe almost exactly - only added a little vanilla (which I add to most baked goods). The texture was perfect - nice and fat and puffy - chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges. I think the Crisco is what helps them puff so much. They are VERY chocolaty - weight conscious could easily reduce chips to save calories and still have a very chocolaty treat! I may try the butter flavor Crisco next time to get the flavor but keep the wonderful texture. I noticed other reviews cut the amount of salt - these are a *little* on the salty side but I LOVE salty/sweet combo. Makes a LOT of good-sized cookies!

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Really good - kind of different. I will make it again. I may try broiling the potatoes at end - mine were not crispy AT ALL which I expect of roasted potatoes. Great week night or company's coming recipe.

Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2009
I too was VERY skeptical of putting a filet in a skillet. It was cooked perfectly!!! Very tender and juicy. The sauce was excellent - I had had a similar recipe at an expensive restaurant - it was wonderful to recreate this dish at home. I also added 1T. brown sugar but followed the recipe as written. Thanks for a keeper!

Perfect just as directed. I have made it several times and it is wonderful. I did use 1/3 less fat cream cheese.

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
I have made this several times. It is seriously DELISH!!! My suggestions: (1) stir a time or two while cooking to get it done evenly. (2) I also cook it at 375 and it usually takes just over an hour. (3) reduced sodium broth and garlic power instead of salt. The amount of butter could be reduced (if you want to save cals/fat) b/c it IS very buttery.
