About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Items that I can put together the night before.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Classic Pot Roast. Thanksgiving dinners.
My cooking tragedies
I tried making one of Giada's recipies from the food network. I had all my ingredients set up and followed the tv show on tivo at the same time. It turned out absolutely disgusting. It was some rice dish with lentils. My husband felt so bad for me.

Alienated Blueberry Muffins
Soooo delicious!!I followed recipe except when I went to make I was short on blueberries, so I divided the batter in half and mixed the other half with dark morello cherries(from trader joes).I used star shape tins and 25min was exact for cooking.Great recipe!

Pumpkin Bread IV
I have made this twice and it is delicious...here are my substitutions. I used 1 cup oil and 1/2 cup of applesauce, 3 cups white sugar and 1 cup golden brown sugar, I used pumpkin spice instead of cloves. I made 1 loaf (45-60 min), 3 small loafs (40 min), and 12 muffins-filled high (20 min). I freeze them and pull them out when I have guests. They taste even better after they have been frozen. Tip for moms...my two year old did all of the measuring and I did all of the stirring, it was a great memory.

Bagel and Cheese Bake
I made this for christmas morning. It will be made every christmas from now on. I followed the recipe exactly. I really packed the parsley into the teaspoon and was worried it would be too much, but that was the best part about the dish. I put the bagel bottoms and tops on the bottom layer so the egg mixture would easily be absorbed. I have made it already one more time with the same outcome, everyone loved it. My husband says he eats breakfast every morning (j/k) and this is his #1 favorite so far. He highly recommends it....so do I.
