Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
This dish is very good. And cooking the acorn squash to peel the skin is great! The only change I will make in the future is to use a sweeter apple. Other than that, I enjoyed this very much as did my husband who is not a big fan of squash.

Thai Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
Oh no, this one did not work for me. I followed the instructions exactly with the exception of leaving the chicken in the marinade longer than instructed. There was no flavor to the chicken at all. I will not make this again.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
Very nice! I grew tired of pumpkin pie several years ago. But when I saw this, I had to try it and I'm glad I did. The topping is excellent and the pumpkin filling is very good. I didn't need whipped cream or ice cream for mine! And my family loved it too!

Sweet Potatoes with Pecans and Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
This was really good. I like sweet potatoes with brown sugar, butter and cinnamon, but was looking for something a little different for Thanksgiving dinner today. The sausage was awesome. I used links and cut them into small pieces after cooking. My only mistake was overcooking the sweet potatoes. It turned out to be more like a casserole than sweet potato chunks, but the taste was just as awesome. Thanks for the recipe!

Dijon-Dill Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Oh my goodness! I just tried this recipe and it's fabulous! I like brussels sprouts plain or with a small amount of salt and pepper. But I wanted to come up with something a little different in anticipation of Thanksgiving. I was very leary of the ingredients, but decided to try it anyway and I am so glad I did. Very nice flavor, nothing overwhelming and a great change. Thank you!

Hasselback Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I've made a similar version of these. I added bacon bits, thinly sliced green onion, and some shredded cheddar cheese. You can add whatever ingredients you like. It's a simple way to change up the potato serving!

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

These are very good. I made mini muffins because I wanted fewer calories per serving, and it's easy to pack a couple in my lunch each day. Will make these again!

This is very good. It's so rich and creamy you'll want to serve small portions. This is the only banana pudding I will make from now on.

This is very good!! I added extra garlic, and one can of tomotes with green peppers. Also used medium shrimp and sauteed in butter and garlic for additional garlic flavor. A hit with my family!

Good bread. Definitely need to add additional blueberries if using frozen. I would also add an extra banana next time for more moisture.

Slow Cooker Posole with Pork and Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2008
I made this last night and it turned out fabulous. I ended up doubling the recipe because of the size pork roast I had. I followed the recipe exactly with only one exception. Toward the end of cooking I added one large can of green enchilada sauce, medium heat. I divided the batch and took half to my Mom and Stepfather, along with some cornbread, and they loved it! Thanks for the great recipe. I will be making this again!!

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
I tried this recipe thinking I would leave the corn out - not a big fan, but I ended up making it exactly according to the recipe and loved the taste! The next time I made it I substituted the pinto beans with black beans, added onions, green peppers and mushrooms to make enchiladas. This recipe is so versatile, you can start with the basic and change it up for other uses. Thanks!

Banana Cheesecake with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I made this for a potluck at work and it was a huge hit! The only changes I made were to increase the amount of mashed banana, and I did use a jar of caramel sauce to save time. This is one of the quickest and easiest cheesecake recipes I have ever made. AWESOME!
