About this Cook
I took a cooking course back in 1982. My main inspiration for cooking was my Mother. I would describe my cooking style today as simple due to health issues.
My favorite things to cook
stir fries, turkey dinners, pies/cakes
My favorite family cooking traditions
French canadian meat pies were always made during the Christmas season. We just eat with Ketchup. My Mother was an excellent cook. Her tomato sauce was excellent, she at times put some pork ribs in the sauce and let it cook slow for hours.
My cooking triumphs
making petite fours for a wedding. it was hard work, put enjoyable
My cooking tragedies
a few minor mishaps.

Cabbage Hamburger Bake
This is a good basic recipe. I too use tomato soup, but sometimes I add a can of diced or stewed tomatoes. I sometimes add bacon to the rice/hamburger mixture. I use brown rice most of the time. I saute the onions with garlic and celery, if I have it on hand.

Lemon Vinaigrette Salad
An excellent lemon dressing that I was looking for. I made a rice salad with diced cooked chicken breasts, cooled brown rice, celery, green onions, cherry tomatoes-cut. Yum!
