Filet Mignon with Rich Balsamic Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
This was very good! I like a nice sauce w/ my steak. I did saute some mushrooms first and then added the steak tp the pan. Then the wine mixture and pulled the steaks out when done. Then reduced sauce while steaks rested. They were perfect! My husband loved as our Valentine's dinner.

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I thought this was good. I subbed non fat milk, reduced fat cheese and reduced fat sour cream with no problem. I cut down on the butter & flour to about 1/2 cup each beacuse other reviews had said the soup was thick. It was still really thick so I added some water.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I have made these as rolls and they are great. I thought they would be a great dough for cinnamon rolls and tried it last night. They are awesome!! I used this dough (even subbing 1 cup of wheat flour for one of the white and adding a little gluten). Had to leave for a while so put the dough in an oiled bowl in fridge for a few hours and it rose over the bowl a bit. Used the rest of the ingredients/instructions from "Clone of a Cinnabon" from this site. Divided into 2 8 x 8 pans (9 rolls per pan). Baked one up and froze the other for another time. They are truly delicious and so easy!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2009
I don't need to tell you these are great. 2000 people before me have done that! They are so easy! I usually divide the recipe into 2 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pans and bake one (usually make the night before, put in fridge, in a.m. let warm to room temp, then bake) and freeze one then let thaw overnight in fridge. I put 9 rolls in each pan. My family loves them. At Thanksgiving I gave everyone a pan to take home to make the next morning or freeze and make whenever they wanted. They all loved me!

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
I thought this was good and so did DH. I used 2.5 lbs. for just 2 of us and halfed the salt & smoke, but should have cut down even more as was quite salty (and I am a fan). I put in a 8 am on low and we ate around 6 pm. I shredded a bit before serving and kept warm in crockpot. I made w/ some Hawaiian Sweet Rolls to make sandwiches with, but think I would prefer over rice w/ the rolls on the side. Added a bit of water to make it more brothy.

Sweet Honey French Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
My daughter said the bread was "amazing"!High praise indeed. I made dough in bread machine and then shaped and let rise a bit on a cookie sheet, then baked at 350 for 30 min. I might try it in a loaf pan next time to give it a better sandwich bread shape. I don't really like the way crusts turn out in my bread machine, so I prefer to finish in oven.

Cheddar Sausage Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
These were made for a baby shower. I made in mini muffin tins and had some left over so I made into standard size muffins. I REALLY prefer them in the bite size mini version. The big ones were just too doughy. I did get asked for the recipe and they would be good to make ahead, freeze & reheat when needed either for a party or a quick breakfast on the go.

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I made this as written & it was perfect! The pork chops were SO tender. I also added a couple of chicken tenders I needed to cook up and they were great too. I found it made quite a bit of sauce w/ just the one can of soup and I will definately make rice next time to soak up the great sauce.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
My husband gave 4 3/4 * so I rounded up. These were great and easy. I used a lot of garlic & the end result was still pretty subtle. I used chicken tenders instead of breasts so they were like chicken strips. We will have them a lot I an sure as our 2 1/2 year old gobbled them up!

Microwave Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
My husband gave this a 4 3/4 *, so I rounded up. It was easy and I made it even easier by using a can of potatoes instead of cooking the potatoes. I added a drained can of corn as well when I added the clams. At the very end I put a splash of heavy cream in each bowl for richness (I used 2% milk & the water from the canned potatoes).I will make this again!

One Hundred Thousand Calorie Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
I have been making this recipe for years (since I was in high school). Somewhere along the way I got tired of unwrapping all the carmels and deciede to try a carmel topping in a jar instead....it works great! It bake the first layer, then I pour on the carmel (I think I usually use Mrs. Richardson's), sprinkle the chips and add the top layer of cake batter mixure. They are a little stickier, but less work!

Mexican Halibut Bake

Yum! Would be good with chicken too. Makes a lot of sauce, so you could cut down on the sauce, or add more fish or chicken. I think the sauce served cold would make a good dip.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Wow! Served to my book club where one member can't have gluten. Everyone LOVED it! It was easy to prepare w/ ingredients I had on hand. I used a 10" springform pan, lined the bottom w/ parchment and greased the sides w/ butter and the cake popped out fine. I covered w/ Hard Chocolate Glaze recipe from this site. It was beautiful! I will make again and again for special occasions ( not more than that cuz I'll get fat!)!

Six Week Bran Muffins

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
I made the batter for these last night and baked up 6. They're gone! Baked another 6 tonight! I love that I have a healthy, quick something to grab in the morning ( had 2 on the run this morning and they really kept me full). Perfect for my teen daughter to grab before school as well. I changed the servings to 36 (LOVE that allrecipes has that feature) to make the batter more manageable and storage in fridge not such an issue! Worked great!

Baked Basil Fries

These were great and super easy. My teen daughter who doesn't like much that I make (through no fault of my own, I'm sure) LOVED these! I served them w/ Broiled Tilapia Parmesan also from this site. I might try them w/ rosemary instead of basil next time.
