Rum Truffles

Oh goodness gracious. How heavenly! I used butter cake crumbs instead of chocolate and I think that was better than chocolate cake would have been. This is chocolaty enough as it is! I would also add either dried coconut or nuts for a little crunch next time. BE SURE to use a high quality chocolate, though I don't believe that bittersweet chocolate is necessary.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
Four stars because immediately this cake has too strong of a garbanzo bean taste, but served after TWO DAYS, this cake becomes dense, moist, and delicious. I put peanut butter frosting on it. Try making it and waiting two days before eating it. It's PERFECT now!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Very good recipe, but you don't need all of that sugar! I cut it down by about a third and would even cut out more than that. Otherwise, great recipe, and well worth a shot.

These were good, but they were not any different from the other no-bake cookie recipes.

Best Cherry Pie

Filling is great, but the recipe needs alterations. Do NOT use egg yolk! Use egg white! This was the ugliest pie I've ever made.

Surprise Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
This is a great recipe if you have cottage cheese you need to use up. I like it so much better than a normal sugar cookie. The texture is unique and tasty-- flaky on the outside and chewy on the inside. Not the most delicious cookie in the world, but, like I said, if you have cottage cheese you want to use up, it's definitely worth a shot.

Coconut Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This is very good. I actually felt that there wasn't enough coconut, but of course that could be adjusted with no problems. Does anyone know of a good made-from-scratch chocolate cake recipe that would work for this instead of using a box mix?

Delicious. I received so many compliments on this cake! I did not use coffee but instead brewed a very strong cup of Earl Grey because I just don't drink coffee and it worked out fine.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
Great recipe to play around with! I greatly decreased the amount of flour, and replaced the raisins with chocolate chips (forgot to omit the cinnamon, will do next time). It couldn't have been easier to make, and I like that it's lower fat than most other granola bar recipes I see.

Lavender Shortbread Cookies

These had such an interesting and unusual flavor, and would go so well with a nice black tea. I used 1.5 tbsp dried lavender and a few drops of peppermint extract and upped the lemon zest a kick, and they turned out very well.

Ice Cream Cone Treats

This is a great recipe, but be sure to serve them within a few hours after frosting or they will go soggy. That's the only thing wrong with them, though--they taste amazing, couldn't be easier to make, and are less messy than regular cupcakes, believe it or not!

A little dry, but the flavor was so perfect for when you want something sweet, but not too sweet (like at tea or breakfast). So delicious, and I will certainly make it again.

Potica

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
A very difficult recipe to make indeed, especially for someone like me who has no bread making experience whatsoever! Be sure to roll the dough out to be very thin. My first attempt was not that successful but not so unsuccessful that I will not try to make it again. Even though my potica turned out to be quite ugly it tasted pretty good!
