About this Cook
I'm a college student who was forced to learn how to cook when I moved out on my own. I never thought I'd love it so much!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially giant, gooey, chewy chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, and pie. I'm very much into healthy cooking (I LOVE Cooking Light magazine) but am a steak and potatoes girl at heart!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother makes the best chocolate chip cheesecake in the world! I've never been able to make mine taste quite like hers. My father is a grill-master. With their talents combined we eat very well at my house.
My cooking triumphs
I think I have come close to perfecting the chocolate chip cookie, which is one of my main goals for college! I've found that the key is just the right blend of brown sugar and white sugar (maybe some pudding mix), a low temperature, and a long baking time. Stay AWAY from recipes that use no white sugar!
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at Potica... It was terrible!

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)
Four stars because immediately this cake has too strong of a garbanzo bean taste, but served after TWO DAYS, this cake becomes dense, moist, and delicious. I put peanut butter frosting on it. Try making it and waiting two days before eating it. It's PERFECT now!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
Very good recipe, but you don't need all of that sugar! I cut it down by about a third and would even cut out more than that. Otherwise, great recipe, and well worth a shot.

Preacher Cookies
These were good, but they were not any different from the other no-bake cookie recipes.
