About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to make homemade candies: truffles, Bavarian mints, peanut butter cups, peppermint patties, bon-bons, all kinds of goodies. I also love to bake. I'm getting good at pies and bars. When it comes to entrees, I love making Italian food and good old-fashioned southern cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I fiddled around until I figured out how to make home-made ravioli and sauce from scratch. Everyone says my peanut butter cups are better than the famous brand you get in the store.
My cooking tragedies
My White Chocolate Cappuccino Cake turned out to be white chocolate cappuccino SCONES. Totally not my fault. I looked at the recipe afterwards: it didn't call for any leavening, and the only liquids were the eggs and vanilla. No worries, I fixed it with a little Baileys :)

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff
I tweaked this waaaayyy too much to judge it fairly, but it turned out fantastic, so 5 stars it is! I used chicken broth and white wine for the liquid, cut back on the sour cream, added some worchestershire, garlic and pepper and a little salt. It thickened a little too much, but I blame that on myself for cutting down on the sour cream, but not the flour. It was one of the best dishes I've cooked from scratch in a long time, so I'll definitely be making it again. Thank you for a great base recipe!

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes
The recipe "as is" is a 4* recipe. With some modifications, this could easily be a 5* recipe. First, we thought it needed more cinnamon. Next time I'll add at least another 1/2 Tbsp if not an entire Tbsp more. We also thought the icing tasted too strongly of powdered sugar. It didn't have any real richness to it. I think next time I will add a little cream cheese to it to give it a better flavor. Overall it was a delicious dish and I'll definitely be making it again and again.

Ciabatta Bread
Absolutely perfect, and the easiest yeast bread I've ever made. I didn't need to change anything!
