Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These were pretty good. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars, is because I think the salt could easily be dropped to only 1/2 teaspoon. Other than that, they were nice and chewie. I added 1/2 cup of choco chips. These went over great with my kids!

Very tasty! I used all butter, pumpkin pie spice and craisins and they turned out wonderfully. Would definitely make again!

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Very good. I followed the recipe exactly except for the nuts. It turned out very moist and tasty. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I think next time I would want more of a chocolaty taste and would make the whole thing chocolate. Very easy recipe though, and a great way to use up summer zucchini.

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
This stuff is addicting! I was a little skeptical because it didn't taste very good warm. But once it had cooled completely it was delicious! I double the recipe. Using 8 cups of berries, 1/2 cup of lemon juice but only 3 cups of sugar. I didn't think the plate test was necessary because it was pretty obvious when it was ready to come off the burner. It reduces WAY down, and really thickens up. Looks almost maroon in color. It turned out perfect, and I will definitely make this again, might even try it with other fruit.

Amazing Southwest Cilantro Lime Mango Grilled Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This was really delicious. I only followed the marinade and the salsa recipe. I didn't zest the lime, just added the juice and used regular chili powder because I didn't want to spend $8 on the Chipoltle kind and it came out GREAT! My husband and I were quite pleased with how this turned out and would cook it again.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Super tasty, and SO easy to make. Definitely is going to become a go-to salad in our house. The only changes I made were to add Pecans instead of Sunflower Seeds (had pecans handy) and craisins instead of raisins...again...had the craisins on hand. I also added some black pepper. DELICIOUS! Even the husband liked it, and that's saying a lot because he's not much of a salad guy.

Salsa II

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
HOLY SMOKES! This is so hot! This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. My hubby loves spicy, so it was great for him. This was a little too spicy for me! But if you're going for quantity this is the recipe. This made a TON of salsa. The only thing I did different was to add a bunch of green onions, a teaspoon of coriander. I didn't bother boiling any of the tomatoes. Just used my food processor. Super easy, and really good. I would just take out the cayenne and a few of the peppers next time!

Golden Mushroom Pork & Apples

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
While the pork turned out great, I also thought the sauce was really lacking flavor. Even though I scaled the recipe down to 4 servings, I kept the 2 cans of soup because other people had mentioned the lack of flavor. I was hoping that would help...it did not. This would be a great dish, but you really have to doctor up the sauce.

Fluffy Canadian Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
While these are very fluffy, the flavor is really lacking. I think this could be a 5 star recipe with a few changes. I did add some vanilla to the egg whites, only used 2 yolks, and added a TBSP of sugar to the dry mix. Even still, like other reviewers, I tasted nothing but egg. However, it wasn't from the yolk, but rather the whites. I would try this recipe again, but instead of 3 whites, only use 1 and substitute the milk for buttermilk...keep the vanilla & sugar, and work from there. I like the idea of incorporating the egg whites, but 3 is just too many for this recipe.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
This is so easy to make, however, I'm not sure why it doesn't call for milk or buttermilk. It comes out way too thick to be a dressing. The consistency is more like a dip in my opinion. So, to remedy that I add about a half cup of milk. I also added a tablespoon of pepper, but that is just a matter of preference. I gave it four stars just due to the fact that as written the recipe is really more of a dip than a dressing. Would make again, but with alterations.

Banana Chocolate Chip Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
While this is tasty, I didn't think it was anything to write home about. I made it as per the recipe. I didn't find it too sweet, but that could be because the bananas I used weren't totally black. Just spotted. I did like the think, bar like appearance, and that I could taste both the chocolate and banana. Not sure I would make it again, but it was very easy, and most of the ingredients you're likely to have on hand.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
These were tasty, but not the best. It might have just been my oven, but I cooked these for 13 minutes (less than what the recipe called for), at 400, and the bottoms were too crispy. I think I would try this again, and bake the rolls at 350. The flavor was good, but I've had better.

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
While this is incredibly tasty, both my husband and I agree this recipe is a great starting point for breakfast sausage. Which is why I gave it 4 stars. We'll definitely make it again, but make some changes. Like more heat....maybe some cayenne, and less sage. It was tasty though, and worth making!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
Fantastic! These are hands down the easiest and tastiest sugar cookies. I love that you don't have to chill the dough. I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out delicious. I cooked mine the full 10 minutes and the were lightly golden on the edge and still soft and chewy in the center. A perfect holiday cookie. Next time I think I'll top them with a little cinnamon and sugar.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This recipe is fail proof. I used butter flavored crisco, self rising flour (was out of all purpose), and brown sugar and it still turned out perfect. I made 1 loaf and then with the rest of the batter I threw in a cup of chocolate chips and made muffins. The muffins only took about 25 minutes to bake up. Since I used self rising flour, I omitted the salt, and only added 1 tsp of baking powder. Overall, a great recipe, and I really like that you don't have to have the exact ingredients...makes it easier to make on the fly.

Pancakes I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
I made these exactly as the recipe called for, and they turned out perfect! I've tried other recipes on this site with buttermilk, and I have to say these were tastier. If you're looking to make a lot of pancakes, you'll definitely have to double or triple the recipe though. I only got about 6 medium sized pancakes from a single batch. I love that everything needed for this recipe I have right in my pantry. Thanks for sharing.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

This was delicious! The only thing I changed was to add 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, other than that I followed the recipe exactly. Even my hubby deemed it worthy of a repeat! Chicken turned out very crispy, moist and juicy!
