About this Cook
My friends consider me the "suzy home maker" because I am super creative with my meals and manage to always eat healthy. I am typically the family dietician and food experiment expert.
My favorite things to cook
First and foremost I love to bake. After that I like to take simple dishes and turn them into semi-gourmet feasts. I also love to create new recipes that are easy on the wallet and the waist line.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was growing up we always made a big elaborate breakfast on Christmas Day. Now that I am married we carry on that tradition, I make breakfast on Christmas and my husband makes it on Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
A fond triumph is when I made my very first cheese cake and it was wonderful. A peanut butter cheesecake with a brownie crust and a chocolate candy shell over the entire thing. I consider myself triumphant any time I make something so well that people no longer want to get it when they go out to dinner, they just ask me to make it for them.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to grill a pizza and I burnt it so bad that it was completely inedible.

Crustless Spinach Quiche
This was a great recipe, thank you it is a new favorite!! I tried to cut out some fat so I used 10 egg whites, and 2 cups of a reduced fat cheese. I added 6oz chopped 98% fat free ham for flavor. It was wonderful, we ate it for breakfast for days.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks
I make this recipe all of the time just to keep it in the house. I like to experiment by adding different dried fruit and nuts. As long as you keep the ratio of dry to wet ingredients the same it is wonderful. (if you add an extra 1/2 cup of nuts, take out 1/2 cup cereal)

Peanut Butter Cookies IX
This is my favorite Peanut Butter cookie. I use a stand mixer until dough is stiff and then use a melon baller to scoop out dough on to cookie sheets. This keeps the outside crisp and the insides soft and almost gooey. I also let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheets before trying to remove to keep the shape.
