I am a wife, mother, business owner, and my way of saying good bye to a stressfull day is to cook something, try new things in the kitchen and successfully please about seven different people for dinner at any one given point in time. It is challenging, but I like it.
My favorite things to cook
Unless it's baking which I'm really not into, I like to cook anything really. When I see satisfaction from my 2 year old up to my husband I know that someday I'll be able to make a cook book for my kids that will hopefully help them when they have to do it for themselves.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really don't think I have any yet. I always do the Christmas dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking in general. When I started about 8 years ago, I didn't even think it would become such an essential, yet enjoyable part of my life. I used to dread it - although I could burn water at that point in time too.
My cooking tragedies
I'm not very great with shrimp yet. My tragedies are varied because I like to try new recipe's so often. I try to make things that my husband may not care for, and turn it into something that he would want to eat if I made it again. Sometimes this is not successful. He doesn't like anything with red sauce so he can be difficult. I think he is my cooking tragedy - ha ha! That and I have the uncanny ability to catch things on fire. I'm a lot of fun in the kitchen - or at least to watch.
