Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
First time meatloafer here!! Whoop. I chose this one hoping the turkey would constitute it healthy//err. I cut it in half but put it in my reg. loaf pan, which seemed alright but it shrunk when it was done?? Weird. Anyways, baack to the recipe..I used what I had, seasoned bread crumbs, shredded cheese two flavor cheese [[from Costco]] an added adititioal seasonings with my homemade italian dressing mix. OVerall it was good, I really liked the cheese part I sprinlked on top but my lil brother didn't . He did however eat all but two or three slices, pretty swell for him. Thanks for posting, Brooke.

My dad actually THANKED ME for making this!! =D He's been worried about what he's been eating, an really I've just been a bit anxious about everyone in the house' diets so this was a GREAT, easy, quick meal. Def. making agian!! I used a homemade italian dressing mix, yellow pepper, an didn't have fresh onions to slice so subbed the diced dried stuff. Really, super superb. Thanks for posting!!! ♥

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
Made this for an apple pie an worked pretty well. Extremwely inexperienced pie maker This is a lame review as I can't give a detailed description of how it turned out..but there were no complaints =) Soo that's always good. For ease though I think I'll stick with the no roll so I don't have to mess with the constant refridgeration an rolling pin. Thanks though!! Looked nice =)

Pumpkin Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
So I halved the recipe, used a whole red bell pepper from food chopper, kept pumpkin at half cup, an because this house is soo ridiculously sly of new things, replaced the pumpkin pie spice with paprika/black pepper/etc. With not even sitting an hour everyone started eating it, so the flavors never got to meld >.< but they didn't seem to care..No leftovers!! Very easy, great use of pumpkin, though I didn't have any myself, it must have tasted pretty good =) **Next time I'll use a can less of tomato sauce. THANKS!!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Made a test run today, measuring out half cup of juice an a little less than 1/4c of zest from my two lemons. It really was easy but you want it to be a ROLLING boil the second half or it takes forever..I think it got yellower?!? I put it in a graham cracker crust an will put on the meringue when the whites reach room temp. So far it's DELISH!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Made these over the weekend to use up the last of my pumpkin, three-fourthed the recipe. I didn't add the extra two tablespoons of oil but followed the rest of the recipe pretty exact. Even with adding a dash of different spices, the pumpkiny flavor was barely there. "Tastes like a normal chocolate chip cookie but puffy an soft." Not what I was going for..But they all disapeared in the morning!! I'd put twenty or so away before bed an when I got up, GONE. Maybe they got better overnight. I think I'll keep trying PCCC recipes though. Thanks for posting!! They WERE good an clearly many love them. =) UPDATE:: Since making a different recipe an comparing, both my brothers preferred this one..so five stars it shall be!! I liked the other better..[[Pumpkin chip Cookies]]

Crunchy Pumpkin Pie Granola

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This was yummolicious!!!!! What didn't get burnt anyways. I also subbed pumpkin puree for applesauce an added 2 TBSL of skim milk to compensate. The pieces that weren't overbaked had a spicey, yummy flavor, mmm. This was my first time making granola, an without oil!!! I'm going to use this as my base from now on. Next time I plan to use maple syrup. THANK YOU so much.

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I wanted to apply store oatmeal ethics an subbed water for milk, didn't add walnuts, an added as lil sugar as possible, hoping to replace with more cinnamon, spices, and extracts. OMG when I added that [[immatation]] maple extract, down the sink it went. GAAAGGGGG. Please stick to the recipe. ~~I give it a five cause everyone else has had nothing but good to say about it an don't want to hurt the star rating. Just wanted to advise against such mods.!! Thank you for sharing

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
FINALLY had a chance to make the sauce an use my previously frozen meatballs!!! [[half day at school..]] I can’t believe first first of all the ¼ cup of oil. Ohh no no no no no!!! When it was simmering, oil kept coming on the spatula and sitting up on top. Ugghh. My dad noticed an did not have seconds. As far as following the recipe goes, I used w/e ever cans of tomatoes I had to equal the amount an next time will def. Not use whole..too chunky. I was also very liberal with the spices/herbs. When I added the meatballs, they were quick to soften an quite a few lost their roundness making for a really meaty sauce. But- they were deelicious =) ***Mseatballs were made with seasoned Panko bread crumbs an mozz. cheese to sub. and sized like a golf ball.

Simple Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
10/30/09 WOW.I had originally printed an began making taco soup III but was finding the need to sub. a ridiculous amount of ingredients. So I went searching to see if Maybe I created my own thing. This recipe though, is pretty close. I made my own ranch dressing mix, used some leftover spaghetti sauce w/ meatballs, and an extra can off sliced tomatoes [[whih I now already regret]]. I'll update later on the *hopeful* success!! UPDATE:: Alrighty, so it's been a few days since I made this so I just gotta remember..It went over well, 11 year old was able to eat it fine with sour cream; said it tasted like 'regular chili from a can'. Which with what I'm working with, is good enough. I didn't add a whole lotta water to it, just let it 'sweat' [[???]] it out into a more chili consistancy, waalla, it's now chili soup. I would def. make this again for how easy it was an try it as written, just to verify my rating. THANKS for the recipe =)

Spooky Halloween Eyeballs

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
First and foremost- DON'T SKIMP ON THE SUGAR!!! Gahh the peanut butter was a nightmare. I kept having to take it in and out and in and out of the freezer. About 2/3 way done I kinda gave up and switched to semi-sweet chocolate, didn't have to worry 'bout the pb showing through or staying behind. I ended up storing them overnight in the fridge and the next morning I realized, hey, I need more white choc. for the iris. Super. Good thing I didn't use all my squares yesterday!! I found that the bigger the iris, the better. The small just looked sad. The red veins really completed the look, although I wish I'd had used a mini brush rather than a toothpick. Overall though, they looked so cool!!! I really wish I could have taken a pic..makes me sad. This was quite the time-consuming project and I don't know if I have it in me to make again. I do give it 5 stars though because the idea is so novel I hope others will give it a go and hopefully like 'em. I especially recommend it for those experienced with melting chocolate an ddecoration. ~not me, clearly. Thanks for putting up the recipe though!! p.s. upon arrival at the party where they were intended for, some had cracked their chocolate, pb sticking out. Same with the buckeyes [[choc.]]. I think it's cause the mixture was too soft..

Pumpkin Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
Made this, it's in the fridge now waiting for tommorow's Halloween get together =) I used a gungersnap cookie dough [[baked]] as the crust; pretty excited to see how it turns out!!! Unfortunately it cracked. Horribly. It was really easy an was able to get two pies..was prepared for one. Haha. Will update manana. UPDATE:: It was delicious!!! I loved it, and as did those who cleared their plates. And the crust was good, too. I'll definately do that again. Thanks for this easy, easy, convinient recipe from your madre ^_^

Classic Gingerbread Cutouts

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
Besides the spices being doubled, this is the same recipe I use for my 'reduced fat' gingersnaps. The dough really needs to remain refridgerated or it's going to stick. Instead of rolling it out on a floured surface I rolled the dough between some folded wax paper. They were nummy nummy! I found they have more flavor when soft, rather than crisp. Thanks! I'll for sure use this low fat recipe again

Molten Chocolate Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Perfect amounts for my four custard cups [that I'm finally using for the first time!] and super easy. I followed the recipe exact, including time an they turned out a bit dark. They were pretty good, but sadly the flavor was as intensely flavored as I was hoping.. The time as I see has been noted upon was indeed too long..It didn't 'flow' =( I think next time I'd try a different recipe. Thanks though!! Note- used Baker's chocolate

Best Ziti Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This recipe was great! Half was gone the first day, the rest gone after school the next day. I think I actually prefer making this to lasagna.. I ended up having to make some mods. to use up what I had. ~Used the rest of World's Best Pasta Sauce [which ended up being a lot less..] so did not need to prepare the meat,16oz sour cream rather than ricotta [saw it used in other ziti recipes]]an as much cheese as I could throw on. I actually chose this recipe cause it didn't call for provolone [something else I would have had to sub]. Would make again in a heartbeat!! Muchas gracias

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
I cut the recipe in half, subbed most the oil for applesauce, an used 1/2c cocoa [[easier measuring]]. Besides those lil changes I added the rest of my Praline Sundae Topping [[this site]] which made it look unbaked..would not do that part again. But I was really looking for something to finish it off an thought brownies sounded good but had no eggs. This recipe was great!! Thank yaa thank yaa

Crispy Potato Wedges

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
O. My gawwd. I did it again. I put potatoes under wax paper to save on clean up on my pans. DON'T DO IT!!!!! Luckily they still turned out well. The directions about cutting the potatoes were very vague..12 slices?!? Mine ended up all different lenghs and thicknesses..I'll have to work on that. My baking time was also got srewed up. My dad was supposed to get home I thought at 3:30-45, but got home at 3:10. So I panicked and broiled them. Ahh well; again, they were a hit. ~~Also added paprika for color an hotness. THANKS!!! Look forward to perfecting my skills to those you see in restaurants/grocery stores [[jojos]].

Corn Dog Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Well ain't that conviennent. I made these a couple days ago an was just thinking I shoul review them when I see them on the front page. I made these with a hot dog lover in mind, an yes con dog enthusiast. I took this creative lil idea an used my own recipe for cornbread [[Butter Cornbread]]. He actually ended up liking them more than I thought he would, both my brothers. My parents on the other hand kinda laughed an thought it unappetizing to put hot dogs in a muffin. Meep. Anywho, it's the kids that really count in this recipe. THANKS!!
