About this Cook
My name is Kaley, hola =)I am the oldest of three; I have two brothers, one's fifteen one's 10 and I am 16. A little about me ~I love spanish!!!!! I'll randomly break out into song or ask people around things in spanish, most of the time they don't know what I'm talking about. Next year will be my third year as I hope to become a fluent speaker. Obviously I'm in high school, birthday's in September soo I'll be a junior. Hoping to participate in afew new clubs like GSA,the Go Green Group, and Key Club. I'm also planning on joing the track team this coming year. Whoo!!! To NOT talk about school you could say I'm one of the shyest people you'll ever meet. The internet helps me to speak a bit, so excuse me if I get in the way. I am unemployed but am looking!! I've got appys for the movies, the fairgrounds, the tanning salon, Ben Franklin, and Baskin Robbins. The fun jobs. =) What else can I bore you with [[by the way thanks for reading]].. My favorite food is air pop popcorn [[seeds from C
My favorite things to cook
I'D LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THE WONDERFUL JOYS OF BAKING!!!!!!!! It is fabulooooooose. Smells so good, feels you with a tingling sensation of excitement!!! This year I hope to make the following: Pumpkin Roll Fondant Cake Pro sugar Cookies Yeast Cinnamon Rolls Whole Wheat Bread Unbelievable Cheesecake Creme Brulee Crepes ..Come back to me
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't believe there are many. Except that my grandma brings her yummilicious cookies when we go camping during the summer!!
My cooking triumphs
When someone tells me that they have a new favorite when I make something. Also, when something is requested twice. Oh yeah!! The greatest was when I entered cookies in the State Fair and won first place!!! That was..in 2006 with my grandma's recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Nothing drastic. Then again, I like to keep everything safe. ;] But when I tryed to make a cheesecake, My pan was too small and the cheesecake edges were brown!! Oh, and when I made lasagna!!!!! What a waste..There was sooo much leftover and unused!! But at least everyone liked it!! XD NOTHING MAKES ME MADDER THAN WASTING. DON'T DO IT ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie
Made a test run today, measuring out half cup of juice an a little less than 1/4c of zest from my two lemons. It really was easy but you want it to be a ROLLING boil the second half or it takes forever..I think it got yellower?!? I put it in a graham cracker crust an will put on the meringue when the whites reach room temp. So far it's DELISH!!!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III
Made these over the weekend to use up the last of my pumpkin, three-fourthed the recipe. I didn't add the extra two tablespoons of oil but followed the rest of the recipe pretty exact. Even with adding a dash of different spices, the pumpkiny flavor was barely there. "Tastes like a normal chocolate chip cookie but puffy an soft." Not what I was going for..But they all disapeared in the morning!! I'd put twenty or so away before bed an when I got up, GONE. Maybe they got better overnight. I think I'll keep trying PCCC recipes though. Thanks for posting!! They WERE good an clearly many love them. =) UPDATE:: Since making a different recipe an comparing, both my brothers preferred this one..so five stars it shall be!! I liked the other better..[[Pumpkin chip Cookies]]

Crunchy Pumpkin Pie Granola
This was yummolicious!!!!! What didn't get burnt anyways. I also subbed pumpkin puree for applesauce an added 2 TBSL of skim milk to compensate. The pieces that weren't overbaked had a spicey, yummy flavor, mmm. This was my first time making granola, an without oil!!! I'm going to use this as my base from now on. Next time I plan to use maple syrup. THANK YOU so much.
