"Kiss the Cook"
About this Cook
Well by trade I'm a photographer that just happens to like to cook. "Never trust a skinny chef," and I'm far from skinny weighing in around 250lbs, lol! I'm quiet until you get to know me and then it's off to the races. I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful sons. If I'm not behind the camera or in front of the stove you'll usually find me listening to my I-pod. I'm a music NERD!
My favorite things to cook
Potato salad is my specialty. I like a mix of German and Southern style salad. Gotta have my bacon y'know! Second to that would have to be Beef/Pork. Baking or grilling it, doesn't matter as long as it tastes great. Currently trying to perfect my molases and honey marinade...I'll keep ya posted.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving without a doubt! Helping my mother in the kitchen the night before has always been a treat to me. She'd cook for hours and then tell me to hold out my hand. She'd put a spoon full of Potato salad in my hand and say, "Tell me what it needs?" Hopefully I'll pass this tradition down to my children.
My cooking triumphs
Honey Glazed London Broil..Mmmmmmmm!
My cooking tragedies
Stuffed Bell Peppers...still trying to live that one down. Damn cookbook said NOTHING about browning the meat first. "Sigh....."

Becca's Chicken-Fried Pork Chops
I liked this recipe but found it lacking in something? It may not be fair to rate it just 3 stars as I may have under seasoned the meat before I applied the recipe? Anyway, the egg wash was a nice touch but I might suggest marinating your meat in something, perhaps "Dale's" seasoning before applying the flour, etc. I really like this recipe so I'll give it another try soon.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs
This was an amazing recipe! After browning the ribs I cooked them in the slow cooker for 10hrs. The only thing that confused me a bit was the "Chili Sauce?" Found a can but it had Tamale's in it...go figure? I still drained the sauce and used it as dictated by the recipe. 10hrs later my wife and I had a feast. I made my German/American Potato salad to go along with it which was the perfect compliment...Try it!
