About this Cook
Until recently, I've always found cooking to be a chore. My husband has taken an interest in cooking some of the meals which has ignited a passion in me to try out new things. I love to read through cookbooks, and have quite a collection, but had no real desire to try anything new. That has changed, and I absolutely LOVE allrecipes.com!
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian! I also enjoy cooking breakfast for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I've been doing it for the past 15 years or so, and it is my favorite holiday too. Food, football and family!
My cooking triumphs
Wow, good question. I cook the best eggs in the house, hands down. My 17 year old son, is a really close second though. I've taught him well. =O)
My cooking tragedies
When my husband and I were dating I attempted to make lasagna like his mama and it was horrible! The garlic was in chunks, and when you cut a slice out of the pan, it filled up with liquid! It was awful, but I've redeemed myself a few years back. I vowed to never make it again, but decided it was time to give it another try. It wasn't quite as good as his mamas, but it was certainly better than that first time so many years ago.

Greek Pasta with Tomatoes and White Beans
Made it exactly as originally submitted and it was pretty bland. My husband and kids did not like it too much either, won;t be making again.

Maple Dill Carrots
These are great! I used a bag of baby carrots and my family (who aren't fond of carrots), loved these, thanks!

Scalloped Cabbage with Ham and Cheese
This was a great way to use up some left over ham. I added an extra half cup of ham, and will add even more the next time I make this. I also want to try adding some pasta to this dish and maybe some mushrooms, mmmm. My kids were skeptical, but they actually enjoyed it. My oldest son even had a second helping along with his dad. Definitely a great starting point, thanks Jeanie!
