About this Cook
I've been cooking family meals since I was 14 years old. I enjoy cooking and experimenting with recipes and I love using the allrecipes site. It is a life saver when it comes to finding a great recipe. The reviews are always helpful to me in deciding how to make a certain dish. Thank you all for your efforts in making this a great online community.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making main dishes, appetizers, and desserts. I am also interested in learning more about making anything that can be made ahead, frozen, and reheated as if you just made it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a German background and our family traditions include strudela, kase knapla, nut pudding, kuchen, etc.
My cooking triumphs
I always manage to find people to "try out" my latest recipes on regardless of last weeks failure....
My cooking tragedies
Burnt and overcooked meat! I like it well done and sometimes I get carried away.

Easy Crabmeat Enchiladas
We didn't care for the enchilada sauce at all. I wouldn't make this recipe again.

Oven Brown Rice
I used a box of Near East Whole Grain Blends, Roasted Pecan and Garlic and combined it with this recipe. I used 1 cup beef broth and 1 cup of chicken broth, omitted the seasoning listed in the recipe and replaced it with the seasoning packet from the box then added the melted butter and baked it. It was fantastic!! Will make again.

Strudel Dough
This is the noodle dough I use to make mom's strudela recipe. The trick is to make sure to let it set for at least an hour so that it is easier to work with and be able to stretch it thin
